Fantastic Place to stay!
This is the best kept secret on the east coast! In a nut shell, Super clean, inexpensive, comfortable rooms and very quiet!Dana & Chris, the owners, are like old friends every time we stay. My father introduced us to this experience 40+ years ago and it has been a family favorite ever since! The summer kitchen is the best! The grounds are impeccably clean and flower filled, the pool is a great place for the kids to cool off after a great day at the beach and the rooms are immaculate! Sitting outside playing cards, enjoying a warm night and a cool drink on a hot summer night at The Sea Shell Motel is Heaven on earth! We bring our teenage kids (yes, they actually can't wait to go, even at 18!!!) and some of there friends every year and now they go by themselves for a quick an inexpensive getaway. They even have a lending library! The area is like The Cape, but with out the crowds! Quaint stores, ice cream shops and restaurants that are very reasonably priced too! Go....just GO, you will love it!!

pleasantly surprised
By Monique, 09/24/08
My wife and I came here and loved it. The staff was excellent and the price was great. It is close to everything but just off the beaten track. We would certainly recommend to other travelers and would return ourselves. Coming from Canada we could not have had better and more caring hosts even during hurricane Hannas close call. Thank-you again. Les & Monique

I have gone here for years and I always have a pleasant time!
By Odette, 02/22/08
When I was growing up, my family and I would go and stay at the Sea Shell Motel. I have such fond memories of summers at the beach staying at the Sea Shell. It is a nice place to stay at with a relaxing atmosphere.

Quiet location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/07
We enjoyed this motel because it was quiet, and we liked the efficiency kitchen as well as access to the grills out in the gazebo. The porch was nice, too, with the chairs and view of the flowers and pool. Yes, we'll go back again.

Love the Seashell
By equestrian, 06/29/07
We have stayed at the Seashell every year for the past five years. Chris & Dana (the owners) are the most friendly and helpful people that you will ever meet. The rooms are very nice and if you ever need anything, they are always there to help. It has a very nice pool and a wonderful summer kitchen. I would never stay anywhere else on the island but here. Would stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
The Sea Shell is inexpensive but convenient with spacious rooms. Ours had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Everything about the room was clean. Very large counter adjoining the sink, places to put things, nice porch/deck outside each room, good looking pool, screened building for grilling and picnicking, outdoor tables, also. Would definitely stay here again and support the local economy in the process.

A "Home Away from Home"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/07
We have rented the cottages four times over the past several years, and we always look forward to going back. The pool is a major plus, especially when you've already spent all day at the beach and you just want to take a dip before going out to eat or back to your cottage for the night. We love being within a block of the little grocery store and the ice cream parlor, of course. Having stayed in Chincoteague five times now, we have checked out many other accommodations on the Island, and Sea Shell always comes out on top.

What a cozy place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
We recently stayed at the Sea Shell Motel in June of 2006 and were pleasantly surprised at the spacious room sizes with the little kitchens in them. It helped save our family alot of money by not going out so much. We LOVED the pool and liked how you could sit on the porch (if your room was by the pool) and watch the kids swim. Nice shaded areas, plus a great spot was the screened in porch with grills and tables. We use to stay at another hotel on the island, but won't be going back there anymore. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful every time I called or had to go to the office. I highly recommend this place to stay for just two or your whole family. Very quiet and off the beaten path of the main roads. You won't be sorry if you choose this hotel. The Ritchey family from PA.

Relaxing and enjoyable!
By BETTYL, 08/04/06
We have stayed at the Sea Shell a couple of times a year for many years, and would not even consider another location. Close to everything, but in a quiet, peaceful location. The owners are friendly and always go out of their way to accomodate. A great place to take the family and relax. The pool is nice and the "summer kitchen" is a really nice extra.

Wonderful Family Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/06
The fact that it is not close to the beach is really not a problem since NO hotel on Chincoteague is near the beach--you have to cross over to Assateague Island to go to the beach! If you want beachfront places, head to one of the ugly touristy beaches like Ocean City or Rehoboth! You are two blocks from the supermarket, from Bill's Seafood Restaurant (one of our favorites), Muller's Ice Cream parlor and the rest of "downtown". AND you are in a nice quiet neighborhood rather than on the tourist strip! We rent a cottage from this motel, but we have stayed in the motel itself. It is not fancy--but few Chincoteague motels are--but clean and comfortable. The landscaping is beautiful and there is a small pool and a "summer kitchen" the owners are friendly and helpful. This is a great place for families and other folk looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay
