Bad, Bad, Bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/07
The staff were so rude and acted like having us there was a huge disposition! The rooms were dirty and the ice machine was very far away. We had to walk to it in the dark because there wasn't adequate lighting in the parking lot area.

rude and nasty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/07
The staff was rude and the rooms were very nasty. There were 2 burnt-out bulbs and the fixtures looked like they were fire hazards.

Warning: Avoid this place at all costs
By Michelle, 6/26/07
The only thing dirtier than the rooms are the people. I don't expect much for the price but I really didn't expect to have the staff barge into my room and curse at me first thing in the morning. I had already paid for 2 nights! What a way to wake up. I got packed up and asked for a refund for the second night so I could go stay somewhere else but the men at the front desk refused to give it to me. At first I thought they didn't understand well because they were from India but after explaining what happened 4 times they said (in no uncertain terms) that they didn't care. The incident occurred at 12:00. I was packed and ready to go shortly after 2:00 pm. I called Visa but because payment was a debit, I couldn't get a charge-back. I would advise anyone considering staying here to not do so. It will be worth the extra money or miles or time to find a better place up the road.

Not happy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/06
I didn't plan to "hang out" in the hotel, so I only wanted clean, cheap and safe. I think it was a pretty safe location, but it defintely wasn't clean and was way over-priced for the quality. The rooms were only clean in the middle - visible dirt all along the walls. The shower had a peeling fiberglass repair job and a door that wouldn't latch without waking up the entire hotel. Reusable items like tissue boxes, etc had disgusting stains on them. I could hear every step overhead and the televisions in the rooms on either side. I paid $43 a night (AAA rate!) for a single room - I have paid $30 in several places for a lot more quality and a CLEAN room! "No visitor" signs all over the hotel - did they think I was a hooker or what? It was offensive.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/05
I stay at this travelodge every time I go to High Point which is about 3 times a year. The staff has always been top notch and helpful. The room has always been tidy and clean. What elese can you ask for but a greeat price...and a great price is what I get each and every time.

would rather sleep in my car
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/05
we booked a room to stay in on our way to vacation. First off it was imposible o find the directions were aweful. Second, we booked a "sleepy bears den"and they do not have one at that hotel. Third, the exterior and the pool were rediculously bad. Forth, there were bums all around. Fifth, the rooms upon entry were disgusting. The tub was caked with filth- it was black. The carpets were dirty and stained. All of the walls were dirty. Half of the lights did not work and there was dirt and grime everywhere,(grouting, floors, sink, trim, doors) everywhere. We refused to stay at the hotel and we left. we did not have to pay. But i found myself trying to find a hotel that evening with two small children and a room for another family. We ended up staying at the days inn, which was much, much nicer. I would be embarassed to be affiliated with this hotel. My family and i make many trips throughout the year. We thought the travelodge was a nice safe place to stay. We were sadly mistaken.

Poor place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/04
I have never dealt with such rude people or a more dirty place to stay in all my travels. Once checking in, the man at the desk was not very friendly. This should have been when I walked away, however it was late at night and I was ready to sleep anywhere. The next day I left behind a travel bag that held some important personal belongings. Not realizing this until I reached home 6 hours later, I called Travelodge immediately. I was told there was no bag left in the room that I stayed in, however I knew it was there. I insisted someone go and double check the room but the man on the phone just sat the phone down and I am assuming did some paperwork and sat around for 5 minutes (I could hear the noise in the background)just to make me think someone went to check. Finally, he gets back on the phone and says there was nothing left in that room and hangs the phone up on me. I called back over and over, however he would not pick up the phone. I had to wait until the next day to call in hopes that someone else would help me out. It ended up the man I spoke with the next day said oh yeah, we do have your bag but you will have to come pick it up. I was told they do not mail things...........o.k. at this point I asked to talk with the manager to see if they could send my stuff C.O.D. The manager agreed to do this, however, with the staff being so rude and inconsiderate, I will never stay at another Travelodge again and will advise anyone I know to also stay away from Travelodge.
