Elk Inn, Elkin

I recently rented several rooms at this hotel. Upon entry things appeared to be nice. After being there for awhile we noticed several things such as, the water was rusty looking(i took pictures), there was a roach crawling the wall in room #213, the wallpaper boarder was falling off the wall, the a/c did not work in one of the downstairs rooms, our matron of honor dod not et her wake up call the next morning, the manager tried to change the cost of the rooms when we got there stating that the summer rate ha went into effect, however our rooms had been booked for several weeks & the girl who had quoted the price stuck to it as promised earlier. i also have never been to a motel that you are made to be in your room at a certain time. i understand the "quiet" issue but we had almost all the room upstairs rented & we were quiet at the time we were asked to disburse from the balcony & go to a room!!!! if you just want a room to sleep , this may be for you.Do not go thinking you have found the perfect vacation spot!

We have stayed at Elk Inn for many years on our way to the beach and have found it to be the best and cleanest motel by far. It has everything any other one offers. Not fancy, but just what we needed. Also it is close to anything one can need.
