Gulfview Manor Resort, Fort Myers Beach

my friends and i stayed there from 5/10-5/13 and had a great stay and will return again. i recommend anyone visiting Ft.Myers to stay there.

The location and view were great, the manager treated us like 1st grade children (we are in our 40s with teenage children). We have traveled all over the islands of the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and other caribbean islands and we respect the places we visit. This manager came out to the beach where we were sitting, and informed us in an extremely condescending manner, of all the horrible consequences we would face if caught on the beach with bottles. We told him that we were not aware of that rule, we have never encountered it anywhere else, and he said that if we had common sense, we would know that "glass and bare feet do not mix". Well, I personally have never had a glass bottle shatter on beach sand before, especially if it was already sitting in the sand! The next day, at 9:40 AM, he was beating on our door, nonstop, until our teenage daughter answered it, and told her that we were to be out by 10AM and that we needed to "step it up some" because the room was rented for that day. I was at the store at that time, and returned to find my family standing in the parking lot with luggage in hand. I was not able to go in and check for personal items. Several expensive grocery items had to be left behind. I would never recommend this place to anyone, even if it was free. The manager will assure that your vacation is anything but relaxing and carefree.

We recently revisited the resort. We stayed here several years ago. We were very happy to find that they had all new mattresses, pool furniture, cabanas, and bedding. Most of the apartments have been recently updated. They now have free wireless internet (this is new). We also understand that they are re-doing their swimming pool. They are trying to have it completed before the new year. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and courteous. We must say, it was good to see it being updated. Highly recommended. We spend seven days in this place and this is what we think about it.Room with the rest of this building needs a lot of updates.Kitchen is poor with the rest of the furniture.Badding was realy old and towels.All together coused not comfortable smells.Beach was not clean and pool furniture was so old and not convenient at all. Staff was friendly and we did like them a lot.Our review does not effect them becouse we have nothing gainst their services.We wish them the best.

not a user friendly place. the mattresses could use replacing, as well as the linens. especially the linens. i guess you are not supposed to complain or use too many towels. the owners are not friendly people.
