Fall Is The Romantic Time Of Year To Visit Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/09
We have been coming here for over 10 years and it has maintained the wonderful romantic appeal, fabulous food, beautiful surroundings and warm and welcoming staff through two different ownerships. If you have not been to the Adirondacks, this is the place to visit for a Fall getaway. All inclusive packages for a wonderful rate are very difficult to find and this offers gourmet dinners, full country breakfasts and award winning wine cellar for an amazing price (compare it to other resorts in the area-nothing comes close). It is truly the most amazing place, sit on your own private balcony overlooking a glimpse of Friend's Lake, fish on the lake, hike the wonderful trails nearby, lounge by the pool or just soak up the glorious rooms and peaceful grounds. Just come and visit this Fall-I'm sure you will be a frequent visitor as is our family.

Exceptional meal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/08
A group of 9 friends from NYC vicinity had an extraordinarily good meal. There were many good reasons to enjoy the entire dining experience. My "drunker goat cheese lasagna" was exceptional. And, the cod was fresh, well-prepared, enjoyably large...one of the best I've ever eaten. We requested a side room to ensure we didn't disturb any other patrons. We were seated in a wonderfully quaint cellar room, with a bricked wall, comfortably large table, and candle light (but less ventilation than needed). The wine selection was good, as long as you avoided the more pricey options. We enjoyed the service, particularly since they tolerated our sometimes rambunctious discussions. This was a truly memorable meal, due both to the 9 friends and the excellent meal at the Friends Lake inn.

Very quaint (except for deer heads on the wall while you are eating), romantic, and quiet. I went with a party of 4 and we ate in the bar area. Service was very good (place was dead and the waiter was also the bartender). He was very accomadating and pleasant. Menu changes a lot, somtimes for the worst, and subsitutions are not always available. Everything is ala carte. Salads are around $8 and very basic, cheese platters are very basic and overpriced. Dinners range from $10-18. Portions are small and food ranges from very good at times to send it back! Kind of hit or miss, sometimes you get a great meal and sometimes it's average. Vegetable or sides that come with your dinner are usually not that good. Dessert is average but they have a good choice.

Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/06
This is a very romantic place to stay. If you have children and just want to get away this is your place. I have recommended to my family and friends.
