Birds Nest Motel, Skaneateles

An old fashioned motel - clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. Skaneateles is a high end market, this motel is a great value, especially for a short trip. We were in town for the Chamber Music Festival.

This little Mom & Pop motel is clean, tidy, and close to the Villiage of Skaneateles, as well as only about 20 miles from downtown Syracuse, NY. This is what the Mom & Pops 'used' to be like--straightforward, friendly and clean. VERY reasonable, as the Village is rather high-end and pricy. This place is down-home friendly! We'll be back!

I cannot emphasize enough... NEVER AGAIN. I travel frequently and have NEVER had such a bad experience as I did at this motel. Incredibly rude man working the front desk (possibly the owner or owner's adult son as he was there all of the time). The hotel is older, one of the old style travel motels with one floor and outdoor corridors. Because the door to the room led directly outside, the room had more insects than I was comfortable with. (NOT cockroaches, but mosquitos, flies, a bee or two and a handful of spiders) If you're on a strict budget, then the price is right. However, I couldn't recommend this property to anyone. The low price isn't worth the shabby treatment.
