Loved It!
I just returned home from a two day getaway with my boyfriend. It was our first time in Cold Spring. Living and working in NYC, this was the perfect place to relax and unwind. We stayed in the Riverview with balcony (Room #1) and found it furnished with elegance and attention. The most majestic views of the Hudson River, Storm King Mountain and West Point can be seen from our balcony.
Dinner at the Hudson House was superb; we had the Cajun Sea Scallops and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat for appetizer, Porterhouse for two, and Crème Brule for dessert.
Service was excellent, the views were spectacular, just a few steps to the River Room restaurant located downstairs at the Hudson House. We took the Metro-North Train (Hudson Line, Cold Spring Stop) which took a little over an hour from Grand Central and a short walk from the Cold Spring Station to the Hudson House.
Since “slowing down and relaxing” was our mission for our two night stay, we ate, we took a leisurely hike to Little Stony Point, sat by the fireplace at Hudson House’s Half Moon Tavern and took naps for the first time in a very long time
We are so very glad to found our very own respite on the River.
