This hotel has to right to even be open!
By Susan, 10/25/06
That was absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life! This hotel has no right to be open. I grew up there, and years ago, this was a nice hotel and the closest to where my family lives, so when I needed to travel back for a family wedding, I went to their web site and made reservations. Boy, was that a mistake. The hotel is filthy - there's no other word for it. The bed linens have seen better decades (centuries), and the furniture is falling apart. And those are the good points. The weekend I was there, the heater was stuck on and there's no control for it in the room. I begged and I pleaded for them to shut the heater off to no avail. With the outside temp dipping below 40 F and all the windows open, the temp in the room had to be 100 degrees. , I tossed and turned all nite and got up with a splitting headache from the heat. The elevator is out of order and has been for 3 months, or so I was told by hotel residents. Parking is below ground and my room was on the second floor. I am a 57 year old woman, overweight with grey hair, and when I asked the 20-something desk clerks if I could get help with luggage, they said "no". It left me wondering what the "closed for a minute while out helping a guest" sign was used for. I was too busy with family to hunt for another room, but I finally made arrangements to sleep on my cousin's floor where I could be comfortable. Don't even think of staying at that horrible place!

Unbelievably Dirty! Bug Ridden! A Flop House!!
By cynthia_reilly, 5/26/06
If you have read any of these reviews, and wondered if they are exagerated, I can assure you that they are not. The place looked dingy and filthy and has severe problems with rodents. This "Inn" is also home to many long term, low income residents who seem like psychiatic patients. Many wander about the premises all hours chain smoking, and often times arguing loudly. I am amazed that such a place is allowed in such a great town! Avoid at all costs! If you read any positive reviews, the odds are that they are composed by the staff!

Not Such a Good Idea....
By LisaW, 10/12/05
We should have heeded the reviews on the internet, but we were intrigued by the location of this motel. We really hoped that the reviews were exaggerated, but they were not. Upon arriving, we went to our first room, and when we opened the door, my husband felt water on his head (we should note there were torrential rain storms that day that lasted through the night). The ceiling was leaking and when we looked on the floor, some of the ceiling was on the floor. So, we were given another room. I have to say that the front desk staff were very gracious about it. However this next room was not so clean. The carpet had burn holes (big burn holes not just from cigarettes), there was dirt in the corners and behind and under the bed. The bathroom was not so great either and we decided it would probably be best to forgo showers the next morning. Later in the evening, the ceiling in our new room began leaking as well. And the beautiful atrium that connects the room court was leaking too. Every time we left our room we felt drips of water on our heads. At one point in the evening we discovered a dried substance on the carpeting that looked either like Animal vomit or feces. Oh we also discovered a centipede running around the floor. Another thing that was disconcerting was the fact that the front desk is not staffed during the overnight. That was odd because we have never stayed at a hotel or motel that did not have someone at the front desk at night. Also there was no clock in the room and by the time we realized it, it was too late to call the front desk for a wake up call because no one was there. The only positive thing we could say about this motel is that there was plenty of hot water and the staff were very nice. It is a shame this motel is not kept up nicely. It is in a wonderful location in the center of downtown Lexington within walking distance of the Green, Buckman's Tavern and the Old Burying Ground. We realize that they have undergone some rennovations, but we were not put into a rennovated room. It is sad that this motel is allowed to be in the state of disrepair and is so uncleanly, because it is in such a beautiful town.

Filthy Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/05
We stayed here the night before we passed papers on our new home in Lexington, because we have two beloved cats and needed a place for them as well. The room was filthy and the bed as mushy and smelly as an old kitchen sponge, but we arrived at 10:00 at night with no alternative, so we spent the night. Both cats caught fleas that night and it took us months to rid our brand new home of them.

Completely Disguting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/05
I recently stayed at the Inn (March 5& 6) and while I can understand renovation I cannot understand filth. Please check room 139 it is disgusting. The tub, outside the toilet. The chairs in the room are stained and filthy and after loosing a key we lifted up a cushion, cigarette butts, and other assorted garbage. Under the mattress I slept on was dirty laundry so I can assume the sheets have not been changed in awhile. I set my purse on the table and upon retrieving it it was stuck. We travel all over the country and you now have the distinction of the dirtiest place we have ever been. There are no phones in the rooms, no ashtrays and no ice buckets. The maids do not speak English or attempt to, at $70.00 per night while not the most expensive in the area I was not prepared for a flop house. I found this on the Internet , I will make sure that I post comments about this place where ever I am able since this was the way I chose your Inn I would feel badly if this happens to someone else. We traveled for 7 hours to get there . Unfortunately for us it was convenient to our reason for being there so we did not change hotels, actually from the condition of the room I doubt if anyone would have cared to accommodate us anyway. What a shame, If it was named after the Battle between owners and cleaning service you should tell guests the cleaners won as they obviously do not have to do their duties anymore. After reading this go look and see if you would spend 2 nights in room 139 or if you would pay $151.00 for the privilege
