Updates would be nice...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/08
We've been staying there for 15 years. This is our home town. We visit every year and stay at the Northeastland Hotel. They haven't updated bedding, drapes, carpets, or mattresses since our first visit. My wife enjoys a tub-bath daily where i prefer showers. She had to clean the tub before she could/would take a bath. The lobby is beautiful. The lounge and coffee shop are very nice and well maintained. Service is excellent. We love Presque Isle, please take better care of one of its oldest/greatest landmarks.

Awful customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/08
I live a few hours from Presque and decided to stay overnight in Presque Isle the night before an early morning tournament the next day to allow my children to get a good night's sleep and not have to awake too early the next morning and travel. As I began putting my children to bed, a loud, vibrating thumping began to vibrate in the room. It sounded as if you were standing next to a car that had the loud bass speakers. I realized that it must be coming from the bar downstairs. We were on the third floor and could hear it this loud!! The girl at the front desk stated that the bar had a DJ on weekends but would look into having the music turned down. A gentleman then called me back minutes later and said that I would have to put up with the noise as the bar had a DJ on weekends. He did make me an offer to pack up my children and move to the 2nd floor (closer to the noise). UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is the first hotel I have evered stayed at that did not care about its customers ability to rest, relax, and get a good night's sleep. The next morning the different gentleman at the front desk said that there were a dozen or more complaints during the night but the staff did nothing about it. Do not stay at this hotel on a weekend as the activity in the bar downstairs will come before any patron in the hotel! With regard to cleanliness, I was appalled to find old coffee and an old used coffee filter in the coffee pot in the bathroom. I then had to wonder the rest of the evening as to how much else in the room was not cleaned after the last guest.

"CONFUSED"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/08
I read down through some of the reviews and was taken back by the huge difference in the reviews . It almost like reading about 2 different hotels. How could one place have such different comments? I found this to be very interesting and wondered does the hotel staff or hotel management read any of thesein try to make a difference in service. I am going to jump out on a limb and say PROBABLY NOT!

Could be better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/07
Average food. Overpriced room considering there are virtually no amenities. Untrained staff as far as I can tell, esp in the bar. During my only two visits, the bartender seemed more interested in socializing with her friends than waiting on room guests.

stay away from this place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
One of the worse places to stay in town, the bar is very noisy at night, people smoking dope in the rooms and nothing done about it. The food is very sub-par. The staff is rude and unfriendly. Had to send my steak back as it came out almost raw. I've worked in a kitchen before and I've seen this happen. The cooks tosses the steak in the deep fryer to expedite the cooking process, then they throw it on the grill. I will NEVER stay there again. Next trip up, I stayed at the Keddy's Motor Inn. Rooms were on par but the people were MUCH more friendly.

Very Poor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/07
After driving 6 hours to a room I had confirmed and paid for with a credit card weeks before, the front desk clerk informed me that they had given my room away and that they did not have any rooms available. It was 8 o'clock at night and there were no rooms available anywhere nearby. Most reputable hotels would have gone out of their way to make me whole, such as provide a voucher for another time or even offer to buy dinner. They merely said, I'm sorry - you are on your own." I would not recommend this hotel to anyone after this treatment.
