InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa, Papeete

The staff was so friendly and the resort so quiet and peaceful. My husband and I spent Christmas 2007 here. Although the resort was farirly booked for the holiday, it felt as if we had the place to ourselves. They had a lovely traditional dance show on the weekend. The food was AMAZING! Papa Noel made the rounds on Christmas eve at dinner and gifted all the guests candy and little treasure chests of nuts and fruit. Every detail - the views, the rooms, the service -- could not have been better. Most of the guests were European, Russian, and Australian. We felt like a novelty being American. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, if you don't want to hire a car. For about a dollar and a half we jumped the bus and went into the main town daily to look around and pick up fresh fruit at the public market. There is also a great grocery store a half block from the hotel entrance. Anyway...the hotel couldn't have been nicer. Enjoy your stay!
