would have to think hard before returning.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/11
We loved the fact it was so close to the tennis, only 10 min walk to get to there. Compared to the Sofitel in the Gold Coast, we were disapointed. We felt the bathroom was dated and really small. Very disapointed that the 50 cent peice that was deliberatly placed at the foot of the bed had vanished on the first housekeeping service. The staff were really nice and friendly toward us and were real helpful. In my opinion and my opinion only i think the pricing here per room was far too exspensive for what you get.

fawlty towers of melbourne
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/8/07
I stayed in a room on the 38th floor in which the airconditioner, makeup mirror, tv, hot water system were faulty and the room was not cleaned and newspaper not delivered when requested. The towels supplied did not feel clean or fresh. Quality below expectation for 5 star hotel.

Never stay on the lower floors!
By Jin, 9/17/08
Excellent accommodation and service. We stayed on the 49th floor, just one below the top Level 50 Suites - and we were glad we did! We could just hear the music and noise that echoes up through the Hotel's Atrium from the restaurants and bars on the 35th floor in the evenings. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying on the 36th-45th floors as it would be too noisy! The hotel room doors are very heavy but have gaps between the carpet & sides that allow the noise in. You won't get much sleep on Friday or Saturday nights on the lower floors ... but maybe that might be OK with those who want to party! Jin Ghee Teh

It was incredible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/07
As I have traveled to many places, you cam imagine that I have stayed in lots of hotels. This one was one of the best! In addition to the hotel being absolutely lovely, the staff was wonderful. We were with a tour group and they accomodated us very well. The staff was extremely friendly (I found most Aussies to be that way) and most helpful. It felt nice to feel safe in leaving my possessions in the room while site-seeing everyday. I would definately stay there again.

Not 5 Star
By Neman, 8/30/06
Nice Hotel, BUT Attention to detail lacking. Surrounding View and location Very Good. Breakfast great (Omelette best on planet!) I have been there 6 times and EVERY time there has been some sort of work on-going. Spoils the overall ambience. I have experienced check-in and check-out difficulties on every occasion. Room presentation & cleanliness 'nice' but not 'perfect' Check in and out staff obviously undertrained - don't expect the message you passed to the reservation booking agent to be read or understood at the front counter when you arrive. Internet expensive (WHY??) Phone calls also expensive (WHY??) I will return. The view, location and breakfast DO out-weigh the service problems. BUT this is not up to the standard of a 5 star.

Beautiful hotel, very modern, clean, excellent room service, has all the necessary amenities, and perfect location in the midst of downtown, shopping restaurants and museums.
