Excellent choice

The hotel, formerly Station Hotel and renovated and reopened as a Comfort Inn chain hotel last September, is in front of the Hakata Railway Station, which was very convenient. The station is connected with subway and other major lines and you can go to major sightseeing areas by riding on them.
Our room was spacious, clean, and modern, with free Internet access, which was important for our laptop use. The bathroom was small by American standard but equipped with latest facilities including a washlet, a computerized bidet-type toilet, which is a common feature for Japanese homes. If you are unfamiliar with it, you can use a conventional method, so don't worry.
The room charge includes breakfast in the lobby. It's buffet style with coffee, tea, fresh fruit cups, yogrut, salad, hard boild eggs, various breads, and rice balls.
The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the best features was a laundry room on our floor where for a few hundred yen we used laundry machines and dryers, avoidng usual hotel laundry fees like $3 to $5 for a piece of underwear.
One missing item from the cosmetic amenity was a shower cap. I asked for it and the front desk apologized that they didn't have it, which was rather strange.
All in all, this is an excellent choice either for business or pleasure. We'll definitely go back if we go to Fukuoka again.
