Under Whelming

A bit of a surprise, the New Otani was extraordinarily corporate and the sevice cold. A massive hotel, featuring a number of different shops, eateries, and guest facilities, we had to struggle to get the concierge to suggest a potential dining location outside the complex. Understading it is located within the 'businesss district', the staff seemed judgemental of our not wearing suits and that we'd even suggest using the subway system. If you're looking for service and culture, I would not suggest the New Otani.
The tower room was nice and came with a sound system and a decent view. It did not come with an iron/board which we had to sign a waiver for to be entitled just one hour of use.
A convenient location it is within walking distance of the Akasaka station and has a large taxi queue for access to the city.
