True 5 star hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/07
Just returned from a 3wk trip in Taiwan & China and had to report on the superior Taipei Landis hotel. We travel frequently and wish I could find such marvelous accomodations everywhere we go. Luxurious, great in-house restaurants, service, staff. We look forward to returning.

Our second stay at the landis Taipei
By Michel D, 10/15/06
Most of all we liked the bar and the restaurants in the hotel and the friendly people there. Of course we enjoyed the quite, big room. We stayed at this hotel late September, early November 2004 and in July 2006. We hope to go back to Taiwan and the Landis in 2008. I also want to say, that the Landis in Tainan is from the same quality as the one in Taipei. De Smedt / Belgium

Cozy and helpful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/05
I stayed here for 3 weeks in September/October 2005. I had a ball ! The place was clean, very comfortable and the service was excellent. In fact excellence was the standard of everything, from the personalised Hotel business cards given, to the laundry service, to the quality of the food and service provided at "The Brassierie". The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to locate places where I could go to and things I could do. I had some unusual requests like rollerskating and chinese lanterns etc... not the usual stuff, but they came up with the answers I was looking for and were always very helpful. I can recommend this place!

Old World Charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/05
In New York, old world charm in an apartment meant OLD, a water closet( no bathroom)and a tub in the kitchen. The Ritz Landis has lots of charm and is very comfortable, not like those owc apartments. This is an older hotel of 1930's Paris style. If you like Old World classic elegance, the Ritz Landis is for you. Friendly, gracious service. Check-in at a private desk with staff escort to your room. Elegant furnishings. The 2 room suites are very comfortable. If you like new and fresh, you'll hate the place. It is comfy like your grandmother's house. I liked it nevertheless. On a few cold nights in winter, there is no heat. The neighborhood is rather shabby, but safe and interesting. If you are into walking, its better to eat in the excellent hotel restaurants. You can walk to the old Combat Zone (now "the Pub District") if you want to visit a hostess bar, be chased down the street by a "welcoming" mama while calling out "Charlie Brown" or in general, get harassed by enterprising bar girls selling drinks. I don't recommend it.
