This Sofitel is not really on the level of a sofitel. The service is not what I was expected and the hotel really need some refurbishement. The ideal solution now in bamako is the new Radisson hotel, it is all new and really nice.

I travel to Bamako for work quite often. This hotel has an amazing swimming pool (it's huge), excellent wi-fi in the lobby (it's fast), a great lobby bar (watch out for the prostitutes though) and decent meals. There is also a nine hole golf course in the back, which is by no means on par with a course you'd find in the West, but it happens to be one of the few courses in Mali. The rooms are spacious though the air conditioning is a bit erratic. The bathrooms are nice (marble sinks) but sometimes the baths leak water. Also (and this is the downside) there is a moldy smell on some of the floors, so you have to be careful which room you get. Other than that, the staff and the hotel in general are excellent making this a good choice for business travelers to Mali. Free airport transfer is also a nice perk.

this is the best place in the world i want to live here i wish that it was my home becuase i was treated as if i was a qween i am packing my stuff now to catch the plane to come back
