azadi hotel
By jobin, 11/3/11
Im an Iranian myself, and I've studied tourism and traveling, and i had the chance to travel alot, both inside iran and outside and i wanted say sth. about Azadi hotel, Esteghlal hotel, and any Parsian group hotel. well they ''were'' good and standard hotels ''before'', some of them real 5 star hotels but they aren't now. and the reason for that is that Parsian hotels are not private hotels anymore and this is the reason they are in the conditions they are now. and let me assure you these are not the best hotels in Iran, well some may find them good and nice hotels in tehran, but let me give you a tip, when you travel to iran dont stay in ''Parsian Group Hotels''. There is a **Pars group Hotels** which are really closer to a 5 star hotel and this is because they are not **Publicly Traded Companies**. And besides, its normal you don't find the best hotels in Tehran, and this is because Tehran is not a touristical city, well it has many many many historical monuments, alots of historical sights, best museums but it is still not a touristical city, it is mostly known for its business centers and etc. Here is another tip, If you wanna travel to Iran, choose tehran for 1 nights or 2, then travel to Esfahan, Siraz, Hamedan, Bam, Qazvin, Kish Island and hundreds of other places with real 5 star hotels ;)

Azadi Hotel...hmmmm
By azman, 3/24/11
Well...I am coming back back to Tehran for a refresher course this year...I was in Tehran in 1997 for my International Refereeing Course..really enjoy it coz of great friends from Asia, Europe, Middle East and local Iran as well. Azadi Hotel as they mentioned was ****** stars hotel. Look like it, but not in the services...as a guest who had travel a lot, the hotel is only a 2 star hotel, not more....and the worst thing is...I lost all my 'MIKASA T Shirts' during laundry...hahahaha..and when I asked the manager...he pretended not to understand my English Language...

its the best you can get in tehran
By ghafar, 4/15/09
i am an Iranian my self and i had a chance to travel a lot . so if you hear that the azadi grand hotel is the best in town it truly is compared To the others but I believe that you have to change your expectations when you travel to Tehran. The fact is that the hotels in Iran are not that popular because you can’t get what you get on the hotels all around the world things like casinos discos, fancy restaurants, escort or a comfortable room. What you get is an average room in a building that is somehow like a hotel there is a TV but no HBO there is only 6 local channels in Persian and BBC and CNN there is wireless internet but the speed is no more than a dial up and it’s filtered. The bathroom is not a big one and there is not a hot tub don’t forget to bring your own towel, if you didn’t just buy one. The bed is the same quality you get in an average euro hotel and if you can bring your own blanket because I won’t use the one in the hotel. If you want to travel to Tehran don’t forget that there is everything you can get put like nowhere it’s the best put ever and all other drugs and don’t get shocked if you could get cheap JOHNNIE WALKER its original , it’s just illegal but not for you . And there are some high class English speaking call girls also. But you can’t take any of those to your hotel room. I offer an apartment instead of a hotel room with 60$ a night you can get a legendary apartment which has a swimming pool a bunch of hot tubs 2 or 3 rooms at least a big bathroom and satellite TV with at least 1000 channels a clean fancy king size bed . The only advantage of a hotel then an apartment is the restaurant but there is an option of ordering in and don’t hesitate to ask anything from your neighbors even …

The best in Iran?
By Afza, 3/15/07
My Iranian colleagues said that it is the best hotel in Iran. That caused having high expectation before my arrival. Had a bad experience with Taxi from Mehrabad Airport to the hotel, which I was overly charged - USD50. Then when I reached to the Hotel, it was a mixed feelings. The location was great, which I had a room with great view facing the snowy mountains. But the interior was bad. The carpet was old and a bit smelly. The mattress was terrible, like more than 10 years old. Only tiredness that helped me to get a sleep (was on business trip). Nothing in the fridge. Toilet cleanliness is not commendable. And it was shocking that they will not clean your room if you don't put the "Please Clean Up" sign at your door. And I'm not comfortable with the floor/ceiling, that I could here any movement that the upper room made. The breakfast just okay, but they didn't change their menu at all for 1 week. After 2 days, I asked my Iranian colleague to take me for breakfast outside. But I would like to praise the Iranian. They are so friendly, helpful, kind and always smile.
