You couldn't choose a more perfect hotel!
My husband and I are in our late 20's and decided to spend our wedding anniversary in Amsterdam. After our 7 hour flight we tried to check in but it was 8am and too early. They rushed and got our room ready for us quickly. That impressed us. Throughout the entire stay, the receptionists and concierge was very attentive, and always helpful. Whether it was helping with bags, getting directions or even just answering questions about general Dutch culture.
Another thing we were impressed with was when we tried to make reservations at the Cafe Americain, they were completely booked...actually fo rthe next few weeks. We left them our room # to let us know if they could fit us in or not. That evening we received a message that they had a table reserved for us for Sunday's brunch at 12:30. So special. The brunch was fantastic, and we knew it was because the dining room was full of the posh and wealthy local Dutch people.
Our room was very nice, the bed was very comfortable, there was a large flat screen tv, 2 telephones. The bathroom too was very nice and well stocked with towels, soaps, toilet paper, so on.
The location of the hotel is a Major Plus! It is located right in the center of Leidesplein, which is an amazing part of the city. Numerous delicious restarants, next door to a huge theatre, many bars/clubs, Boom Chicago improv show, ATM, the tram stop, it is just in the most prime location here in Amsterdam.
I have only 2 complaints, and it wasn't that big of a deal but the room had no clock in it, so we had to have wake up calls every morning, and the walls are very thin. We heard our neighbors and they heard us.
As far as my husband and I are concerned, we will not stay anywhere else when visting Amsterdam. Plus, the locals told us that the Celebs stay there when in town to perform at the theatre! ;)
