Hotel Plaza Lucchesi, Florence

Fantastic view from our lovely spacious room overlooking the Arno with postcard views. Very nice helpfull staff especially the head concierge who was a mine of information. The too many entrance steps were not too good for a person like myself with slight walking difficulties, especially at the end of a tiring day. Breakfast was good as was dinner with again very attentive staff. We spent 7nights in Jan/Feb 2009 and will return again to the Lucchesi as it has everthing we wish for and is great value. We just loved it´s location and of course it was quiet at this time of the year but well,Florence is a must come back to city and of course we would recommend highly this hotel.

Though the location of this hotel was excellent--close to attractions and the Arno, the rooms were small and the bathrooms werent good at all. I would plan on staying somewhere else for my next florence trip

What a great hotel. our room was on the top floor and when we opened the windows there was the Piazzale Michanagelo's version of the David.Close to the Duomo and right down from Santa Croce

We found this and average hotel with ok rooms at a elevated price, breakfast was ok, nothing to brag about, overall its a average hotel with very little to offer other than the location

We have stayed in this hotel three times, and have found the service to be very good. The first time we chose a room overlooking the Arno, the Michelangelo Plaza and San Miniato -- a beautiful view. Unfortunately, it also overlooked the Lungarno with the noise of motor scooters most of the night. The next time, we requested a room high up in the back, which looked out on Santa Croce -- a far better, and quieter, experience. The hotel staff is friendly and professional. The complimentary breakfast was generous and delicious, but we found dinner in the hotel restaurant to be expensive and mediocre. Better to eat in one of the many restaurants in the area surrounding Santa Croce. Not to be missed: Late each afternoon, at 4:30 pm, the Benedictine monks at San Miniato sing Gregorian chants for 1/2 hour in the crypt of the church, followed by a mass. A beautiful and memorable experience, even for those of us who are not Catholic.

It was not inexpensive, but I must say the location on the river and proximity to attractions made this a nice place to stay. The rooms were very nice, but not opulent, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again without hesitation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night. The room was beautiful and we had a wonderful view. The staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions. We highly recommend the hotel and can't wait to return.

If you are a family of four - little ones behind you and your wife, this is one great hotel. It offers a 2-story loft style suits for affordable prices and right on the river!

We stayed at this hotel in Oct. 2002 for our honeymoon for five nights. It was a wonderful hotel, clean, and our corner room was a wonderful size with a beautiful view of the Arno. I loved the location as we were able to explore the other side of Florence and we were close to the Ponte Vecchio. Breakfast was fine, although I am not a huge eater in the mornings. We would stay here again.
