Comfortable, good location, nice staff
We stayed at the Hotel Victoria Roma during our first visit to Rome, in June 2006. Finding a room for a family of four in Rome was no easy task; especially finding a spacious, comfortable room. We did find this at the Hotel Victoria. There was plenty of room to move around and be comfortable, which, by Europpean standards, is a good thing! (It is not a very fancy place, but you will have a pleasant stay here). The bathroom was enormous-close to the size of a bedroom! A continental breakfast in a pleasant dining room was included with the room package.
Staff members were very friendly and helpful at this hotel. They all speak English, but were very gracious about my attempts to speak to them in Italian, and actually helped me along with it, praising my progress as the days went by!
The location of the hotel is a good one. You will be on Via Campania, about a block away from the northern end of the Via Veneto, which is a wonderful area of Rome. The Villa Borghese, a lovely park, is right across the street too.
If you do stay at this hotel in the warm weather, make sure to have atleast one meal at their rooftop restaurant. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very pretty.
All in all we had a very nice stay there and would recommend this place.
