Hotel degli Aranci, Rome

I stayed in this hotels many times for business trips in Rome. Nice big rooms for affordable prices. The rooms are very different so you have to ask for a big room. Some rooms have showers and other have tubs. The hotel is not centrally located and have to walk or take a taxi to get to the center. On the other hand this makes the hotel so quite. You can park outside in the street if you have a car.

We stayed here over the holidays and we had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was lovely; very quiet and nice. But being out in the residential area, we really had to be aware of what was open around there. Be careful how late you stay out if you expect to have dinner at the hotel. (Good thing there was at least one Bar open all the time nearby.) The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The service was wonderful. The rooms were clean but small (but everything is in Europe). Everything worked and the beds were clean and comfortable. There were internet jacks in every room. The lounge was comfortable and welcoming and the breakfast was fabulous. The staff even helped us figure out which bus/metro went where, and helped me with my translations. They gave us quite a few tips about getting around. Just around the corner is a bus stop for both the 217 (which goes to the Termini) and the 52/53 which goes to the Piazza de Barbarini and the Piazza San Silvestro, both fabulous locations for site seeing and getting on the metro. San Silvestro is right in the heart of the shopping district between the Trevi and the Spanish Steps. Fabio and Daniele were amazing. They were even supportive and managed to find us transportation when our Airport Shuttle didn't show up on our final day. They managed to get us to the airport in time. I can't wait to go back and I would definitely stay there again.

Liked: - clean and well appointed room, with satellite tv and a remote that worked! - air conditioning worked very well - linens spotless - breakfast was plentiful, standard European fare with pastries and also boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, and prosciutto - friendly service without being intrusive - bathroom was small but the shower was great and everything worked - bed was firm - location very convenient to bus 217 which runs to Termini. From Termini, you can get anywhere you need to go in Rome. - very quiet location, in a residential area. As mentioned in another review, the consulates of Switzerland and Ecuador were on the same block. Didn't like: - a bit expensive (200 Euros a night in June) - room quite small - no internet service that we found Would definitely stay again.
