I think i found what i'm looking for!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/07
Ok it is a cheesey title, but Bono from U2 owns the hotel.. I stayed here recently and we had such a great time. The location is fantastic right in the middle of where everything happens in Dublin. We had a great room with a balcony, the dinner we had in the restaurant was the best we had in our entire time in Ireland. A must is also a cocktail in the octagon bar, amazing. This with the fact that i bumped into Bono & REM in the bar made my visit extra special.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/12/07
This has to be one of the best hotels in the world for service. The staff are amazing. The hotel itself is nice and comfortable, a very contemporay and simple design. the besdrooms are of a fair size with huge comfortable beds. The Bar has some great cocktails and they have a brillant restaurant that does a very reasonable early bird menu.

Great Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/12/07
The hotel was nice, thought a bit overpriced , My room was along the street and the noise was ridiculous all night. Didn''t get much sleep. So the room along the streets should really be discounted. Other than that, it was with in walking distance to almost anything in City Center. Room was stark and beautiful, very comfortable bed. Thanks, Lynn

All around wonderful experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/06
The Clarence was where my husband and I started our honeymoon tour of Ireland. The staff were very helpful, personable, and nice. I had come down with the flu on the day we left for Ireland, and the staff made sure I had everything needed to make me feel better (extra pillows, directions to the nearest pharmacy, etc.). The massage that was part of our package definitely helped, too! We especially loved our room's view of the Temple Bar area. Even though the room itself was rather small, the balcony overlooking Temple Bar more than made up for it. The food we dined on was some of the best we've ever had, and The Octagon Bar made especially good martini's. All in all, we had a wonderful time at The Clarence, and have recommended it to anyone we know travelling to Dublin. Even though it's a little pricey, you get your money's worth in service, charm, and general atmosphere.

Quiet island in Dublin city centre
By Catherine, 2/8/06
I've stayed at the Clarence hotel in January and was positively surprised by it. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was absolutely fantastic. The Clarence Hotel has it all for me.. Luxury at human size. The size and the situation of this hotel make it the ideal place to enjoy a quiet and relaxing stay right in the heart of Dublin city centre. It is indeed very close to Temple Bar and a few minutes walk to the shopping district. And if you can't stay there don't hesitate to enjoy a cocktail at the Octagon Bar, they are absolutely exquisite.

Fantastic service!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/20/06
We stayed here the very last night of a 2 week vacation in Europe. Decided to splurge and stay in a fancy hotel after all the camping and hostels, and it was so worth it. The place was sparkling, the service was excellent at the hotel, in fact they went above and beyond. It was very obvious we were backpackers and we got treated as if we were royalty. I wanted to move in. The rooms are small by American Stds. by more than adequate by European, the decor was very interesting. The bathroom was a dream, the biggest bathtub ive seen in any hotel (I actually took 2 baths) and I so wanted to "accidentally pack" their robes. If you stay here you must eat at their hotel restaurant, The Tea Room (reservations are a must!). The food was divine, and well worth the exorbitant price. Made me and my friend feels like millionares. Highly reccomend it.

Great independent hotel in downtown Dublin
By Yvonne French, 1/3/06
The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. It is right in the heart of Temple Bar, near shops, bars, restaurant and farmers market. The building itself is old but the decor is very modern. Rooms are average to small in size but tastefully decorated. There's a popular bar downstairs as well as a "study" for quiet time - reading, working etc. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel has free valet parking which you will need because parking can be tough in the center of the city. Prices are definitely lower than the advertised rate. I paid 200 Euros.
