The Cumberland a Guoman Hotel, London

Stayed there summer 2003. Air Cond did not work and no effort was made to repair it during our four nights' stay there. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Booked room at LeMeridien's web site which was not capable of confirming a non-smoking room although it allowed one to note the preference. As expected, no non-smoking room was available at check in. Lobby was the only place besides the restaurant that had air cond and was like a refugee camp as everyone crowded there for heat relief. Room was "renovated" to Art & Tech decor but almost nothing in the room worked, from the fancy plasma TV turning on and off by itself to plugged drain to shower door that did not close properly to mysterious funny noises. NOT recommended except for its location.
