Royal National Hotel, London

Hotel was rubish basicly i didnt even have a real bed i had to sleep on a put up bed how bad, i only had 1 pillow for my put up bed, the rooms smelt funny, bathrooms was ok they wer nice and new and clean, food was really rublish like everyone says toast like rubber even the evening meals wer just as bad, so much noice comeing from outside it was like a cirus, i got locked out of my room many times my card woulnt work so i seen the cleaner down the hall way and asked her she couldnt even get in :L so i had to get a new card. Btw the only english people are the receptionests they want to make it look good.

im so unhappy with everything this hotel had to offer, its a disgrace! the food was horrible (toast tasted like rubber) & ( fish wasn't cooked) and soon as i told a member of staff, they did not speak any english! but overall the service of the staff was bad! also the other main problem was noise from outside, shouting, people getting drunk, even the security gaurds joining in. The amount of litter that was left as well was horrible - as there was gum and empty crisp packets down by the television. i reccomend nobody to stay hear, and anyone whoever says this is a pleasent place they will most definatly be lieing.

I don't even know where to begin. I booked a twin and a triple room for two nights in this 'hotel' for a special occasion we were attending in London. for a bargain price of £390. The location for our event was perfect but otherwise I was utterly disappointed with this hotel. Upon arrival to our rooms one bed had chewing gum stuck to it, the other had burn marks on it, the shower was hanging off the wall and even if it was attched only people less than 5 foot could stand under it without bending, there were two towels for three people, there was other peoples belongings down the side of the desk and overall we were not happy. A similar situation occured with our twin room, lack of towels, no kettle, dirty bed sheets etc. We rang reception who assured us they would send up towels asap and that we could speak to the manager later that eveing regarding our concerns. We then proceeded to the self service restaurant. There was 8+ waiting staff standing around none of which offered any help or showed us what the procedure was. We went over to ask and eventually somebody explained. The three course meal was like pig slop. A measly selection of salad to start, followed by beef like a rubber boot or battered cod without the cod and a chicken curry that tasted of nothing. Dessert was the choice of two cakes. Oh and if you wanted a drink, it was not included. It was at this point that I decided I had had enough and approached the reception desk to ask to speak to a manager to be told they left at 5pm (it was now 7pm). I eventually spoke to the reception supervisor who was unwilling to help at all. I also found out that the reception number on the phone isn't the reception number of the hotel but somewhere else! He again said towels and a kettle would be sent up but none were. He also informed us we were staying in the refurbished area of the hotel - he nearly had to pick me up off the floor! Breakfast was bearable, though the toast was like rubber, the tea a gastly grey colour and the service was unfriendly, slow and unacceptable. The tip of the iceberg was when we found someone else trying to get in our room - they had double booked us! Luckily we got to stay in our rooms. When you look at the description of this hotel it sounds great, but overall it was a dump. I have travelled all over the world and the youth hostels I have stayed in have been far superior to this and for alot less money. Yet again I was disappointed with what our country can get away with. What must people arriving after long flights think when the first glimpse of london they see is this place. A disgrace!

terrible!!! the manager doesnt even know how to train his staff!! in windsor that is! terrible although some of the young stuff were very pleasant. but some of the staff are very lazy! get ur butts in gear!!!

The service was terrible, the room was dirty and disgusting, a bedsit would have been cleaner, we complained and they moved us to 2 other rooms, but that was no better. The restaurant was dirty and grubby, the trays had looked as if they had been dragged along the floor, and the continental breakfast was awful. The location was ok, but there was not alot to do, you had to move from south hotel, to north hotel to go to another restaurant to eat. The staff didnt speak or greet you at all, and they didnt even thank you when you left. I would not go there again, if this was the only hotel available.

WORST hotel I have EVER stayed at. Rooms were disgusting. Mold was growing on bathroom ceiling and carpet was full of stains and dirt. The hotel actually CLOSES after about 9PM and elevators are shut down. If you come back to the hotel after this time, good luck trying to get back in. They actually LOCK their front doors and nobody is allowed in or out. Staff was extremely unintelligent, rude, unhelpful, and just plain weird. After my stay, I was actually sent multiple invoices for phone charges that were not made by me. I've received multiple phone calls and emails by the staff that simply does not listen or has no brain capacity to understand that they are billing the wrong person. Please take my advise and DO NOT stay at this hotel. London is a great city, but this hotel will leave a bad taste in your mouth for the city and the entire country. Put out just a little more money and stay at a decent hotel.

It was a basic hotel, clean and centrally located. The rooms were not large by all means, but London has more to see than the hotel. The free breakfast buffet was very minimal and the cafeteria area was to small for the number of guests staying at the hotel. If you are taking a quick vacation it is a good place to stay due to location and nearness to the underground. But staying over a few days may get old. You have to pay for internet at this hotel unless you have a laptop to hit their wireless in the lobby.

I had spent five nights in this noisy hotel without an hour of good sleep. The waves of noises coming from the downstair's London Bar and the parking area deafening your ears throug the whole night. If you want to have suffers in London, please do book this hotel which may turn you to be insane one day!

Sorry to say but i was there a few years ago and a i think it's was a great hotel acording to the relation price-confort. i have no reason to complaint about the hotel staff, i actually can say that they were nice and i wasn't english so i recomend it to everone that pretend to go to London and be in a central space

I've stayed at this hotel under two different sets of conditions, one as part of a booking with a Contiki Tour, and two as an individual booking. With Contiki you get a better/cheaper rate, but not breakfast, and you have to use those 'wand' keys that you have to turn in everytime you leave the hotel. It's a hassle. The rooms are fine for their purpose. They're a safe place to sleep, rest, and get cleaned up. The cafe downstairs has good, well priced food. So over all it's fine. With a direct booking you get breakfast included with your stay, which is usually and 'english' breakfast buffet. Along with a real key you can keep with you. It's located near an underground station and is walking distance to the British Museum.
