special place BUT

in having spent nearly several visits with George V Four Seasons Paris along with many other Four Seasons properties..the service overall is excellent, however, in my last visit to George V, I had terrible Concierge service. Example...I wanted to rent a car...they quoted me a price three times more for a lower level vehicle than I got at Sixt Rental agencies( by the way, an excellent alternative for renting cars in Europe..they are all over and expanding and most of their cars are less than nine months old). In addtion, they sent us out to Palace Versailles without telling us about the three hour wait AND without suggesting an alternative by purchasing a group pass and avoiding the long lines. In paying nearly 8000 usd for a three day stay....this is unacceptable. However, the dinner we had at the Le Cinq serviced by Francis and Vincent was excellent along with Nick's care in room mgmt. If you can afford it, try the Hermes airport pickup...beautiful car. Other than the Concierge..everything else was EXCELLENT. Would I go back again....possibly but I best know the City since Concierge does not seem to alert you to ways of avoiding problems. I am not saying all the staff behind Concierge are poorly trained but with this car rental issue..its hard to not imagine there is money under the table being offered. By the way, I got a BMW 5 series less than six months old for 55% less from Sixt Car rental than their ( four seasons) suggestion for a basic Audi 4. Something with Concierge has change their since my last visits. By the way, I do tip well which only adds to the insult. But..do try their Le Cinq Rest.'. and with people like Nick in Room Mgmt., you are assured a perfect room.
