Spa Balmoral Hotel, Spa

We booked a special 2 nights wellness package as advertised by the hotel. The junior suite was very nice. Wellness package service was very poor. The staff turned up late, we had no access to the facilities and promised lunch was very poor. The dinners were also nothing special. We were very disappointed with the overall service.

I almost took the $50 room in the little hotel in town. What a major mistake that would have been. I decided to take the hotel special which in 2003 was like $500 for 3 nights in a single room plus breakfast and one dinner. Worth every cent. The room was very, very small. I mean like half of the average college dorm room (really) but the view! My goodness. The rooms all overlook the Spa valley and it's just amazing. The Swiss Alps it's not but it has a charm all it's own. Hotel was very comfortable, clean and excellent service. I came to spa to get a massage but I must say the massage I had at the hotel ($50 for an hour) was not that good. Food was really good. Breakfast buffet excellent. This hotel is located about 1 mile from the town. You can walk there taking the short cut through the woods but it is not that convenient for getting something quick. Best hotel in the area.
