A stand-out

After navigating the congestion and noise of the nearby Kartnerstrasse, it was a relief to slip through the doors of the Bristol into a completely different atmosphere of quiet elegance. Our spacious rooms had very comfortable sofas and chairs, beautifully carved fireplaces, huge marble bathrooms, brocade draperies, fine linens, lovely paintings, antiques, and a table with fresh flowers, fruits and chocolates replenished daily. It takes a lot to impress our 11-year-old grandson, but this did it.
Dinner in the hotel's dining room was memorable, but the five in our party felt breakfast was overpriced and the second and third day we bought breakfast elsewhere.
The concierge was particularly helpful. The Bristol is easier to access by auto than many hotels in Vienna.
