Overpriced
By ,
Not a bad hotel, but overpriced to the point of price gouging. It is, essentially not worth the premium. I suggest a better value hotel in Cuzco.

Ghastly overpricing!!
By ,
Sure, the convenience is neat, and the view of the ruins and surrounding mountains in nice -- but for $600 and more LESS per day, you can stay in a clean and nice hotel in the Urubamba Valley, down below... just a quick and scenic bus ride from Machu Picchu, after which you then can relax and explore the site, and adjoining Inca Trail, for several hours, to your heart's content. If you have money to burn, feel free to stay at the Sanctuary. But your Machu Picchu adventure isn't the least bit diminished by doing it economically. My brother and I know. We did it that way and saved a fortune! And we want to return again to Machu Picchu, and do it all over again the very same way. Our ages? We're both in our 60s. And were subjected to NO discomfort by going the economic route.

Perfect

Perfect location - only option if you want to stay AT Macchu Pichu and not 30 minutes below at Agua Calientes. Courteous well trained staff, good food. Very pricy but worth it for a once in lifetime experience

I have Never seen a hotel like this.
By ,
This hotel is too good to be true. This hotel could not be found in a better location. Not only is this ghotel the best hotel in Machu Pichu but it is definately the best place to go exploring in. I have traveled all around the world since my dad is an owner of hotels around the globe but this hotel is located better than any hotel I have been to. From this hotel you go directly to the ruins of the Incan City of Machu Pichu. I would recomend you go to any Orient Express hotel in Peru

Fantastic
By ,
I got into the ruins at 5.30am by staying at this hotel. I therefore had 1 hour on my own watching the sun rise before the hordes arrived on the buses(at 6.30am). It was completely amazing. If you are not going to trek the Inca trail then book into this hotel to get an early start. The food is excellent but you need to ensure that you travel agent has booked the a la carte dining room for lunch and not the dining room open to everyone (i.e. the buffet lunch) as it is completed chaotic. I also stayed for 1 night at Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel in the town but that was a miserable experience and miles from the ruins!

Overpriced
By ,
The hotel is directly outside the entrance to Machu Picchu. However, this means that it is a half hour bus ride to the town of Aguas Caliente. Thus your only option for dining and shopping is in the hotel. It also looks like a prefab shed from World Was II from the outside. If you wish to experience Machu Picchu without crowds, I would recommend staying at the Machu Picchu Pueblo hotel and catching one of the first buses up (they begin at 6am).
