Our room was clean but tired. The hotel needs a remodel if they are going to keep charging the rate. The internet service was pricey for what you can get mostly for free at other hotels. I was in the park the next morning, plenty of security and I felt safe.

It is moderately well situated downtown, easy access to most parts of the city, the premisses are worn out and rather ran down. The park in front of the hotel must be avoided for safety reasons.

Great location. In the heart of Belo Horizonte with beautiful views of the city and the mountains. Heavy traffic during working hours but close enough to walk to stores and restraunts. It is a little loud in the morning from all of the traffic because the windows are a little outdated. Great service from everyone! They have english speaking staff that will do anything to help you. They also have security and valet parking. I am not sure what goes on in the garage with the valets but our car had a weird smell when we got it back one day! I would stay here again but not for the value. I like it because it is downtown, has great service, great restraunt, friendly staff and a great pool that is located on the roof about 20 something stories high. Be careful if walking late at night. It is not advisible to do so. It can be dangerous anywhere in a city of 4.5 million people. My dislikes are: old decorations, the room ended up costing over $100 per night when they added in all kinds of taxes(it was supposed to cost $60), valet parking (smelled like a lady of the night had been used in our vehicle), old windows that allowed noise to be very loud in the morning. Overall it was a good experience just don't tell them you are there on vacation so they will not hit you with a bunch of taxes. There is a park across the street and another in the mountains. Have a great time but dress down and avoid being out late. They have a small spa and steamroom downstairs. Have a great trip.

Room moldy and smelly, bedpread in tatters, sheets well worn, coverlet frayed. Room, suite, large with a lovely view of the park only unsafe to walk around. Great restaurant with delicious food. Beautiful pool. No paper or pencil in the room. Surely this is NOT a 5 star hotel in any sense of the rating. Halls dingy and dark, elevators clean. No overhead lighting, dark and dingy in rooms and not just my room but my friens also.
