Hotel Contadora Resort & Casino, Contadora Island

I love the place. Its still there atleast when I went in 2010. The service was grea. They even climbed up the palm trees to get my wife several coconuts, 25 of them and she drank them all during our 7 day stay. The food was delicious even at 3am...Yep, we got hungry called it in and only waited 20mins for it. The island is beautiful along with the plane ride which was a bit scary, but hey, there's a risk in crossing the street! Tip well or always complain about your experience, we couldnt of had a better time. Have recommended it to others and they have gone and enjoyed it too. The animals walking around the resort was a special treat. A deer visited us almost every morning!!! I paid a cheap price for this trip and got better then some 5 star hotels. One thing you need here...a towel. They did run out of them quickly but they made sure we had them as soon as they came out the driers. They kept us busy and they were great at bar tending. The music was loud when we went to the dance club, but, we didnt hear it in our room which was across from the common area. Hammocks were available at all times and boating as well. I have no complaints and look forward to another trip there with friends!!! Be happy people and enjoy the experience.

The Hotel Contadora has been sold and is in the process of being taken to pieces piecemeal and a whole new development will be going in its place. This began on Jan 15, 2009. We stayed there a few years ago, for 2 long weeks. We were ready to quit after 3 days, but you are stuck on this pitiful island. The hotel is very old and in need of just about everythung. The beds are saggy and most uncomfortabe. The buffet consists of 2 orf 3 salas, some fruit and vegetable and 3 or 4 casseroles, every meal. The afternoon lunch could also be hot dogs and hamburgers cooked outdoors. One Chinese restaurant À la Carte, but they are still looking for a Chinese to operate it and cook chinese food. Small pool, small beach. The pits. You must fly there from Panama City airport, in a 12 passenger Sea Otter type that has tires on which you can actually see the rope sticking out. No mi gusto.

This hotel was not enjoyable, although the island is a natural beauty. The service was not at all on the ball, not helpful. The facilities are in shambles. On the beach there is a huge rusting abandoned ship directly in front of the rooms. The food was disgusting. The worst part by far was the loud, blaring music, with live comments, that will keep you awake till 3am anywhere in the hotel. Turn that trash music off or play it indoors!

Service is very poor no help, no information, rooms and facilities are in bad conditions, food sucks, the hotel charges in advance for the whole trip, the worst experience ever. Don't come here for romance or family, not worth the money or time. ANY other beach hotel in Panama is better by far. If you want to visit Contadora and Pearl Islands make it a day trip or stay somewhere else. In addition, I'm reporting this to the Panama Bureau of Tourism. As a Panamanian, the poor quality of this hotel is embarrasing and I don't want visitors to take bad memories from my land.

We liked everything and moving to Panama. The service, management, staff were wonderful. Clean and lived up to advance publicity. Go, you will be glad you did. See you on the beach.

I went with my cousins and we had a welcome coctel. The personal was very respectful and gentle. They were always looking for activties for us to do, like play cricket or volleyball... Every night was amazing. The staff always had a show prepared were we participate. (I won a bottle of champagne on a dance contest). The food was abundant and you eat all you can!! We hope go again soon! Ahhh.. and at night, the view of the moon was so beautiful. You could see the reflection of a beautiful moon on the sea. You are isolated and you escape for several days from your stress and your real life.

I like everithing, People at the hotel were so kind, the food was delicious, the place is very pretty, and clam to relaxe. I really recomended these place

We visited Isla Contadora via Air Panama ($71/RT ticket) May 12-May 14. 4 adults and 6 kids under age 7. It could not have been a better vacation. The Hotel Contadora ($113/night double occupancy) was basically empty, except for some Swiss visitors working on the set/filming for the upcoming Swiss version of Survivor. The staff was friendly and accomodating, especially Mario at the front pool. He makes a mean Pina Colada Rosa w/o alcohol. The weather was great, and the occasional rain lasted only an hour or so and was a nice break to the day. Good snorkeling near the point at the right end of the beach. Best done at low tide (9 to 10AM) to have the clearest water and to see the most fish and other sea creaturs like the camel-nose ray. We took a day-trip out to "Crab Island" with one of the locals ($20/hour for the boat, NOT per person!) and had a great time there. On the way back we caught an "Aguja" (needle) fish and the boat captain fileted him for us and the chef at the Hotel was happy to cook him up for us that night. The food at the hotel was plentiful, although nothing worth talking about, plenty fine for kids. The fruit was always the fresh and wonderful. The rooms were clean, although the beds are quite worn. They are doing some much-needed remodeling on roofs and other things. But when the place is practically empty, we all said the trip couldn't have been any better! Our flight to leave was Sunday at 5PM, and they let us stay until 4:15 to check out and then took us to the airport. Two thumbs up from these 10 travelers!

this place was a dump. there is no casino. the golf course is completely overgrown - get some goats to eat the grass. good luck getting clean towels and toilet paper for your hotel room.
