Hotel Cielo Mar, Aguadilla

The website is nothing but a lie. The location does have a beautiful view. When we enter our room we could not belive how small it was. The bathroom looked like an outhouse inside. The faucet was the first one ever invented, the shower had a $1 store soap/ shampoo/ conditioner dispenser and the shower head was broken. It was dirty and smelled like an emergency room. The bed had hairs on top of the mattress. We called the front desk and they gave us new bed sheets but did not make the bed for us and they told us that there were no more rooms available for us to be tranfered to (I think we were the only couple staying there!) We could not take a shower due to the broken shower and the 2 cockoroaches spending the night with us and we slept on our jeans and shirts since the "clean new bed sheets" they gaves us had more hairs than a dog. Next morning we canceled our stay and they offered us the VIP suite. We did not take a chance. We told them their hotel was horrible and they canceled and refunded our stay, except for the night we stayed with the cockoroaches. Forgot to mention...the pool was empty. I would never go back. I am Puertorican and my husband is Irish- italian, this was the trip we planned for him to meet my parents and the frist place he saw from PR was this horrendous hotel. I was so embarrased. We went to El Faro Hotel, just about 5 minutes from Hoetel Cielo Mar and that place was great.

Dirty rooms. Poor service. Poor quality of meals.

i had my honeymoon at this hotel. to my prospective, it was a good hotel, i did not have any problems, as soon as i got there my room was ready, and i think it is a very good hotel to stay at.

I would like to say my daughter ,her friend and myself stayed at this hotel and found everyone to be fantastic. Especially Zori who actually had clean towels for us every time we came back from Crash Boat beach. She was so attentive she gave us an extra key when she realized we had a friend visiting. Also Frances?? who adjusted the error in fees. We will be back as we fell in love with Puerto Rico. Thank You, Valerie

"Gerencia" No puedo creer q. he echo varias llamadas desde las 8:45 de la noche y son las 9:15 y cada una de las llamadas me han dejado esperando bastante y he tenido q. enganchar. Mi nombre es Jose Sanchez y yo me he quedado con mi familia, esposa y 3 niñas anteriormente y hoy 29 de abril llamo para reservar mi espacio ya q. cumplo Aniversario con mi esposa y no me he podido comunicar, desearia por favor q. mejoren el servicio de telefonia, creo q. tendre q. buscar otro lugar donde pasar el Aniversario con mi esposa. HUGE disparity between the website and reality!! I am blown away by some of these reviews...did you folks stay at the same hotel?? Rooms were tiny, dirty and problematic. Had no hot water for 3 days. Toilet ran continuously despite multiple fixes by the "handyman." Food was WAY over priced and mediocre. Hotel generally old and run down. No elevators. The pool which looks clean and lovely on the web site is anything but. While it has a great view of the ocean and the front desk staff was friendly enough, that isn't enough to bring me back.

We arrived around 3 pm in the afternoon for check-in. Was greeted warmly by the hotel staff and the front entrance was grand. We went to the room which was roomy with a queen size bed, TV, and small refrigerator and a nice tile floor . The bathroom was big and roomy, it had tile all the way up the walls with a pedestal sink and standard bathtub with a wrap around showercurtin. There were a few problems but none that could be worked out: there were no hand towels nor wash clothes in the bathroom just the big bath towels, there was no hair dyer but it was warm enough when you went outside to dry your hair naturally. There was not a light over the mirror so it was hard to shave with the little light in the middle of the bathroom. There were only 2 pillows on the queen size bed but I did get 2 more from house keeping. Over all I would stay here again but ask for some extra towels when I checked-in along with 2 extra pillows. The view was magnificent off the patio by the pool area over looking the Atlantic Ocean. It was also close by to my mother's house which is why I choose this hotel

The location was difficult to find with the never - lost system but easily found by getting directions from the staff. Nice location, staff was exceptional! The hotel was clean. We really enjoyed our stay with them. LOVED the salt water fish aquarium in the lobby!!!

I had my wedding reception at the Hotel Cielo Mar's Gaviota Room. It's quite nice. I had a good impression of their service. I had paid for a 200 guest count cocktail and dinner. I expected them to pay special attention to my guests, but their bartender, waiters and waittresses were quite rude to my guests, the manager gave the order to throw away hordreuves and dinner without asking us or concenting with us in any way. They were constantly giving problems to my coordinator and also wanted to throw away my wedding cake after they served it to my guests. They treated my father quite rudely as well. Both my husband and I are very dissatisfied with their service. To top it of. They didn't serve us our complimentary breakfast or champagne. I don't recommend this Hotel for weddings.

There website and flyer do not advertise what the rooms really look like. We had requested a room with an ocean view..rooms where very small and dingy, one wall was written on with a pen/pencil (like when a child writes on the walls), ac unit was hanging and very old, thermostat control button was broken, curtain and rod where handing down from one end, bathroom was very old...bathtub had built up mildew, faucet looked like it was from the 60s and had never been changed. A frig. was put between the bathroom and closet therefore you could not open the closet but only from one end, closet was dingy, dirty and off the tracks. Bed....when you sat all you felt were the springs, comforter had holes. The balcony was in need of major pressure cleaning, table with only an umbrella stand and no umbrella. We had requested ocean view, but there was no ocean view...you had bars real high, then bushes behind that, then the pool (so you hear everyone and they can see you, no privacy) then three big palm trees, then if you look real hard you could see the ocean. The room above us had a very short balcony so they could actually look down and see what we were doing, again no privacy. Only one outlet in the whole room. If you need anything, iron, towels, etc., you have to get it yourself from the front desk, nothing is brought to you. Critters were also seen in the rooms. Breakfast on the premises is very expensive. When asked about the rooms noted on the flyer as they do not look anything like the room I was in, I was informed that the pictures on the flyer are the rooms located on the other side of the hotel, she then continued to assist someone else. We only lasted one night, as we had checked in late and had no where else to go. We had spoken to a friend of a family member who lives in Aguadilla and she stated she would never recommend this hotel to anyone, as she had gone to see it for a function and had seen the same things we had seen. I wished I had spoken to my friend earlier.
