Good \"budget\" place to stay

We paid ~$140 a day here. Compared to first-class hotels like the Ritz, this is not great- the water sometimes take a lil bit to heat up, the bathroom is small, the TV is "not a plasma", and there isn't much of a view per se.
However, if you need to stay in a hotel, but don't want to pay too much (all hotels in San Juan are EXPENSIVE), this is a good choice. It is very clean, everything works well (including AC, TV, toilet, etc), and it is quiet. The nearby neighborhood is quiet and safe- there's a 24-hour cafe down the street with good Puerto Rican food. The maid service was good, and the internet connection was free. Complimentary Cont. breakfast that we did not partake.
It's roughly $12-15 for a cab anywhere in SJ.
Stay in Old San Juan if you want nightlife/tours, Condado for some shopping, and Isla Verde to be close to the airport, but Miramar has some solid value.
