Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, Nassau

My family of 5 (3 teenagers) and my immediate family spent 8 beautiful days at this hotel (previously a Raddison). Even though half of the hotel was under construction, it never put a damper on our trip. You would have never of known that there was construction going on. The hotel rooms were spotless, the lobby and bar area were beautiful. The 3 restaurants that were available to us were fantastic (other 3 were closed due to remodeling). The service was great - I have never met a staff so friendly and willing to go out of their way for us. It was by far the best vacation that we have ever gone on and will be looking forward to going back next year.

When i went to the Sheraton it had only just been transformed from the Raddison so some of the hotel was closed, but their brilleant service made up for it. There was a slight mix up with the rooms so the hotel kindly got us a full suiet! The staff there provide exelent service better than any other hotel i've ever been to in my life! Every room also has a flat screen tv. The best hotel in Nassau!!! Samuel Arnold age 10.

Its the cheapest and the best. The kids loved it and I US TOO. You have got to come here amazing food and service.espically you Ulrik!!!!! From your students(we shall not say who we are)!!!!!!!

Staying at the newly renovated Sheraton was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice, new and sheek it was. The hotel room itself was very nice. Very big and comfy bed. Plasma TV. Beautiful view. Highly recommended. Room service was also excellent. The restaurants are a little pricey but that goes for the whole island in general. Bar/lounge also nice.

We knew hotel would be under renovation during our stay and didn't quite know what to expect. However, overall it was a great hotel in a good location. Hotel Staff - Did their jobs and made sure needs were met but didn't really go above and beyond to serve guests. Cleanliness - Above average, especially considering the construction. Beach Access - Excellent! Very nice private beach access with palm tree umbrellas covering the chairs.

I love everything about it lots for the family to do i know my four sons loved our vacation. we even brought the in-laws and their going back too.

As of July 2005 it was my 4th trip to the Raddison. My family and I loved it...All of it. We noticed that there were some changes because we were told that the hotel would be going under construction and it was sold to Sheraton. The night life in the lobby, (the music) seemed to change and the music seemed to cater to the young teenagers. The music over the years when we were there catered to all. We had no problem with the food,the room or the staff. Would love to know how the constuction is going and what price changes there will be and I hope they kept the pool area exactly the way it was. It was a tropical heaven. Hope the new owners keep the public notified about the changes. It became home away from home to me and I would love to go back.....depending. We also made friends with a couple of staff members and we are in contact with them during the holidays. Would love to see them again. Hope Sheraton kept them as staff members. Some guests in July 2005 did have problems with their rooms and I saw the complaint line. What a shame that these people had to experience this on their vacation. SHAME ON YOU.

Staff was veru unfriendly. Tipped the bell man for bringing bags to my room and was not told that there he was automatically getting a tip added to my account at the hotel. The food in the Italian resteraunt was terrible, calamari the worst i have ever had. The phones broke for some time. The server other resteraunt was downright rude. Took a half an hour to check in. The concierge was not very helpful. Over all in was the worst hotel experience i have ever had.

The resort is in a great location but the Radisson failed to tell us they were under construction. What they listed as renovations was actually a construction zone. In fact my family who came to visit me indicated they didn't even realize the hotel was open due to the major construction that was going on. There were NO!!!! resturants in the hotel open unless you call a few table covered with tents at the pool side a resturant. Because there were no resturants in the hotel and we purchsed the all-inclusive package we had to walk to the hotel next door to eat. When it was storming we had to fight the storm to get to dinner. Due to the MAJOR construction the plaster was falling off of the walls, some pipes broke on the floors above and below which left a terrible meldew smell as you walked through the hotel hallways. The ceiling in the lobby was leaking so badly that they had several trash cans in to catch the water during the rain. When asked to speak to a manager I was informed the manger would call me. After 2 nights and several phone calls I went to the lobby and demanded to see the manager. While waiting 2 hours to see the manger becasue there were several other guest with the same issues and complaints. I found out I was not alone. The manager offered to give us a room in the hotel next door but by this time I was just ready to leave the island, so she said she would see if she could adjust our bill. The several other patron that were in the lobby also got the blow off of a possible bill adjustment...Which by the way if you consider $58 a bill adjustment for the all-inclusive payment that I made good then ok...but I found the adjustment less than comparable. IF YOU STAY AT THIS HOTEL BE SURE THERE IS NO CONSTRUCTION GOING ON. THEY CLEARLY DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE COMFORT OF THE CUSTOMER ALL THEY CARED ABOUT WAS GETTING PAID. BECAUSE OF THIS TRIP I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE BAHAMAS.....

This is not so much about the hotel but more about Nassau in-general. There are much better island vacations then Nassau. Cons: Much too much solicitation from the locals; and in 1 case an insult when you don't buy what they were selling (and this was on the beach outside the hotel mind you). Bahama hotel hidden charges - energy surcharge $10 per person per nite; set maid tip per day; set 1x bellhop tip per person; set beachtowel personnel tip per day (whether used or not), plus others. It's a nice way to blindside the tourists. Local bus drivers showing 'hate' for tourists. 'Nice' old man taxi driver's attempt at overcharging. Pros: Local smoothie stand; nice beach (when not harrassed); reasonable bus transportation; conch fritters.
