Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, Nassau

This was a nice hotel with friendly staff and I enjoyed my stay (2nd time). It is, as the rest of the Bahamas, expensive to eat and drink and stay here or ANY where on an island where goods must be shipped in. Nice collection of pools, pool side bar and snack area. Some of the public space does show some wear but the rooms were nice and fresh. I will be going back.

BEACH IS NICE BUT BEST BEACHES ARE ON PARIDICE ISLAND. HOTEL IS NOT MAINTAINED WELL- WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOMS SEVERAL NIGHTS UNTIL 1;00 am in the morning BECAUSE ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCKS DID NOT WORK. SIMILAIR PROBLEMS WITH SAFE IN ROOMS. Meals were expensive and not very good food. I would try another hotel on paridice island over near Atlantis.

Let me start by saying that the service that we experienced everywhere BUT the front desk was amazing. The people were so willing to help and to ensure our visit was enjoyable. Regarding the front desk- when we arrived, we waited approximately 45 minutes while 1 person assisted guests in line, and the other 3 stood behind the counter talking and making sure they made no eye contact with anyne. Everyone in line was frustrated. Any time you needed to see the front desk during your stay, you had to wait in the same line...wasted time. When I checked in, I was told that the Breakfast that was included would be taken off the bill at the end, and that I was to eat on the 1st floor at the buffet ($19/pp but that's another topic). So, for the 2 of us, we charged $43 every morning to our room as instructed. My travel documents (Delta Vacations) specifically stated we received Breakfast for 2 daily. When I went to check out, a youn gentleman looked at the account, disappeard for 30 minutes when I told him that breakfast was supposed to be included (even showing him the travel documents that I had showed on check-in). He came back and said no, breakfast is not included. He would not remove the charges, despite what someone else instructed, and despite the travel documents. I asked him if he wanted my last ipression to be of being upset over $170 in breakfast charges, and that he would lose a Sheraton guest forever. He shoved my documents back at me, stating "breakfast is not included". I said that I would dispute the charges on my credit card through Delta Amex, he just walked away. I asked for a manager, who promptly removed the charges. They need to recruit some of the positive, eager to serve people from other areas in the resort, and place them at the front desk, where your first and last impressions occur. Great time otherwise- food is very expensive. Make sure you go to the fish fry...I recommend Oh Andros there. Honestly, we should have eaten there every night, instead of trying the Amici restaurant (plain spaghetti is $28/plate). I would also love for there to be more healthy selections at the onsite restaurants. WE were so glad we stayed here, compared to the Whyndham.

Ok 1st off, everything is expensive at the hotel. Its how it goes no matter what city you go to.It was $40 to get into the buffet. But there were a lot of local places to eat just a $1.25 bus ride away. And the fish fry was worth every penny. Yes the hotel charges you a tip included with everything, but so do 99% of the places in Nassau. Sometimes its a little outrageous but if you weren't going to tip as it is you probably shouldn't be on vacation. The beach was absolutely perfect, and towels were located in a stand right next to the beach, all you need to do is give them your room number. I was due to check in at 3pm, but when I arrived at 12 the room was already set. The room was neat and clean, the hallways are very narrow though. The woodwork was a little run down, but being that close to the ocean and all the humidity is never good for wood. A big tip is to not take a taxi anywhere, it is almost $20+ a trip each way. Many of the tourists just jump onto the buses. They take you right past everything that you would want to see, and they tend to stay well kept and clean. If you are expecting world class cooking, and a huge suite, then no this place is definitely not for you. But if you are looking for a clean place to sleep definitely consider this hotel.

I have been spoiled by traveling a lot and this is probably in the top 10 worst service hotels I have ever been to. I few years ago, I stayed at Breezes in Nassau, just down the beach from the Sheraton, which is an all-inclusive and not as fancy resort. I had a wonderful time there and the service was pretty descent, expecially for an all-inclusive resort. This time we made the mistake of booking a fancier hotel and it bombed. They charge you for tips on everything you purchase, the service is horrendous. I have been to Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, and this is my second stay in the Bahamas. The Carribean tends to have slow service, but many of the servers at the Sheraton had attitudes, and they were also not accomodating. They didn't reserve restaurants we asked them to reserve, they told us restaurants were open for nights, only to find when we got there they were closed, they took an hour and a half most days on the beach for a expensive burger, they would not give us towels during room service and then would send people 5 or 6 times with towels for us...and it goes on.

The Hotel is very nice, most of the staff are very nice, however come with a loaded wallet because on check out you will need it. Having enjoyed a pleasant stay on the lovely beach fronted hotel, I was shocked to discover charges of $160 were added for a 5 night stay. Come prepared to pay over the odds for all service charges also. Shame really as our honeymoon was really nice till these charges hit home. On careful inspection of the Sheraton website these charges are shown but as I booked through as agent I was unaware until it was too late. MAKE SURE YOU FACTOR IN EXTORTIONATE CHARGES FOR YOUR TRIP!!!

This was our fourth visit to Nassau in less than two years staying at the wyndam or the sheraton all 4 times. These reviews amaze me. Let me say I have traveled around the world and the Bahamians are the among the friendliest people I have encountered. arriving as early as 10 am they have allowed us to check in, rooms are always clean, shuttle to golf course or airport always on time. I have never met a rude employee at the sheraton or the wyndam, and any special request was met without a problem. The food prices are expensive, this is to be expected all over Nassau as they import most of their food from the U.S.A.. Across the street from this hotel is a little straw hut daquari bar, for six bucks you get a fresh fruit drink of your choice, 10 at the hotel. dont miss out on this island experience. the sheraton and wyndam are part of the same complex, the wyndam is a little nicer but have no fear staying at either place, Both will give you a great travel experience.

Our stay at this Resort was for only one day but the experience will last a life time. The Hotel was very nice a beautiful view of the ocean. The problem that my family had was the Jet Ski rental in front of the Sheraton Resort. BEWARE its a fraud.. There is not regulation or governing action for the private ventors on the Beach. This rental is in front of the Resort. We had 5 kids traveling with us. The man selling the BOOZE CRUISE set us up and stold our money. The price was $500.00 for 1 hour each for all 5 of the kids. The deal was cost only! My kids only were on the Jet Ski 's for 20 minutes not the one hour that we paid for. The Jet Ski operator told me that we would not be getting back any money and then he laugh! I filed a complaint with the Resort but was told that this Vendor is a not part of the Resort. He told me to walk to the Police station and make a report. I did. The Police officer told me that they could not go now but they could come to the resort later so I could identify the ventors that stole my money. Well 4 hours later, now DARK out, the police car did arrive but the workers had already left. I sent the Police station pictures of the vendors, VERY CLEAR picutres when I returned home. The Police officer asked me to do this so that He could follow up this complaint. Its been 3 weeks and I have not heard a word YET! Beach Vendors have not guidelines or NO one to govern their activities. The workers at the Resort told me that this happens ALL Day because there is not one to help. The view was priceless but the $500.00 burn was a big life lesson. Beware this rental is a rip-off!

The Sheraton is beautiful, clean, the service is great, the staff is friendly, the grounds are perfect, pools clean, free internet service, pool side service is great, food is good! I even left items in my hotel room and they kindly sent them to me WOW! What I didn't like was the walk to my room was to far which could have been fixed with no problem if I had requested and I would recommend finding a supermarket to buy water cause the water is $3 for a $1 bottle. Food is expensive at the hotel but thats any hotel and the fish fry is just a $1 bus ride up the road. So all of my dislikes are easy fixes. The poolside entertainment needs to be turned up a notch. Over all I will be returning to the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort for many years to come. It is a great hotel worth every cent!

this hotel has been updated. our room was nice and all have balconiesand flat screen LG's. the hotel restaurants are not cheap and everyone charges and additional 15% gratuity(you can find 2 for 1 coupons also). you are attached to a casino and there is a liquor store in your hotel. this will combat the high drink prices at the bar. if you walk thru and casino and into the wyndam there is another liquor store and a small convience store(soda,chips,candy bars). i noticed that all the stores in the resort charged $1.00 for a can of soda. if you like beer it is very expensive ($35-$40 a case, even the local) so stick with liquor. you can find rum very cheap. take the #10 ($1.25 each way) bus downtown as there are several liquor stores, jewelry and t-shirts shops and they are a little cheaper. if you want cheap food there is a Burger King and Subway about a mile west of your hotel. there is also a BK downtown. don't be hesitant about taking the bus as we did not have any problems. the bus will stop downtown by the straw market and take you right back to the cable beach area. the buses come by about every 10-15 minutes. we also went snorkeling at Stuart Cove's and it was very nice. we ate at the fish fry. i don't recommend it. we had a party of six and it took us an hour and a half to get everyone's food as they bring out only two plates at a time. the service is poor everywhere as the locals are not in much of a hurry and gratuity is already added to everything. if you know this going in it won't bother you much. also remember that food is very expensive 2 people can eat for $35-$60 typically. so plan accordingly.
