Quiet and peaceful with great staff
By andrzej, 4/29/11
We found the Bell Channel Inn to be a great place to stay for peace, quiet and tranquility. We wanted a place that did not have a ton of people there so that there would be no quiet and this is exactly what we got. We also found the staff to be very accomodating and knowledgeable. If we had a question, they had the answer. The room was always kept clean. The restaurant " Upstairs" had great food and also a great staff, curteous and ready to serve. The best part of our stay though was Jeani, the trip coordinator. She helped us decide what sights to see and which would be best for a couple on thier first trip to their Island. She even drove us herself to a few places. She was always available to us when we needed anything and always pleasant and smiling. We would go back just to have her as a guide again. We will be back to the Bell Channel Inn because they have exactly what we were looking for. We did find also that there is a lot to do within walking distance to the Inn. Nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/11
When we first arrived, it seemed a little run down, but it was nice compared to other hotels on the island. The rooms need remodeling, but the staff and the event coordinator, Genie, make your stay very pleasant. The hotel sits on the bay, but it is not far from the ocean and about a 15-20 minute walk to the market place. I have to mention the food in the upstairs bar. It was amazing!!! The food was the best I have ever had in any hotel by far, and it was affordable compared to the food prices at the Lucaya market place. I would definately recommend eating here, even if you are not staying at the hotel. There were so many things to do here that we were never bored and the hotel staff offers any information and will help find something that you will enjoy doing. Some of the events are a bit costly, but there are tons of things to do that don't require much cash. I would recommend renting a car for a few days. This will save money when visiting Lucaya National Park or Garden of the Groves, which are both beautiful!!!!

A Great Place To Stay in Freeport!
By Just saying, 4/1/08
Just got back from my honeymoon where we stayed at the Bell Channel and it has quickly become one of my favorite hotels! The staff is professional and incredibly personable, the location is convenient to anything you could want (the staff will make sure you get where you want and have the experience you want), the rooms are basic but comfortable and have exquisite views. All in all I have absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend the Bell Channel to anyone.

People make all the difference!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/07
My wife and I found the Bell Channel Inn to be very clean. The food was good with proportions generous. Overall service was very good and attitudes were great. The highlight of the hotel was, of course, Genie! She is very impressionable, likable, and funny as hell! I recommend this establishment. good enough
By roslyn fedd, 6/22/07
Hotel's restaurant food is great. The staff are very nice. The room is very big, but the only thing missing was a microwave. The taxes on the hotel and the mosquitos are the only things I disliked about the hotel. Not too fancy, but good if you want something cheap and clean. Similar to a Red Roof Inn or a Super 8.

Don't Need Frills...Stay at the Bell Channel Inn!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/07
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. All the other reviews are correct...there's no "extra" frills..its just like the motel 6 in the states. BUT, it was always clean, the maid service was excellent, food & drinks were great, front desk was always friendly. I truly felt at home at the Bell Channel. Everything is walking distance away from the hotel so you really don't need transportation other than a bike if needed. Compared to 175+ a night..i'm definitely staying at the Bell Channel Inn again!!!!

A nice surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/27/07
At first I thought the Inn was a little "rough"...frayed rugs caught my eye but it was also clean and daily maid service was good. The room was large and comfortable and the view of Lucayan Bay from the balcony was really pleasant. Best surprise was the small neat bar and dining room and good food that we thoroughly enjoyed. Everyone was very accomodating. I walked to the Port Lucaya Marketplace, the closest shops and restaurants, and it took about 20 minutes. Transportation was available but we didn't need it. All tours can be picked up at the door. A neighbor picked us up another day and gave us a lift to the shops. If you don't need "new", with brass rails and glass, this Inn is surely adequate. We felt comfortable and we would go back again.

Enjoy the Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/06
Enjoy the stay and it's not really to far from the shopping centers. The View was very nice of the town and Channel. Jeanne helped us plan trips around the Bahamas and included taking us there and picking us up. Also they just watched out for us all together when we where at there hotel. They Even help 2 girls with a lost purse before they had to be back on the Cruise Line. Thanks Alot, Dayna Pickett

The Price Is Right
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/4/06
I really enjoyed my stay in this little hotel. I wasn't all flashy and congested and didn't have a beach...but it had a really good feel to it. I was able to stand in on my balcony and see the lights and hear some of the sounds of the Luycaya Marina. I had everything I needed in my room...of course I always take coffee, tea, snacks, etc. So I was set. It was quiet enough to enjoy my novel and active enough to enjoy a little happy hours if I wanted to. The staff was very accommdating and you could walk to bus stop, taxi came to the door, and some complimentary trips were available (to the store and beach). I felt like I was home except in the Bahamas! By the way...I am on my way back in a few days....I was there about 4 months ago! This place isn't fancy nancy...but you can make it work if you are on a budget. This way I can come as often as I like.
