Plaza Pelicanos Club Beach Resort All-Inclusive, Res Las Glorias

I was at this resort for the last week of January. The service and staff were amaizing. Always making sure people are engaged. The activities staff were great. These guys are responsible, where ever you go you'll be safe and enjoy yourself (especially good if you are thinking of going out at night). Resort clientele is mostly comprised from older Canadians and Mexicans visiting from other states. Last 3 days of January March Break in Mexican universities starts. The place gets crowded with students from UNAM (Mexico City) and honestly gets a little loud and rowdy. The security staff did a good job at keeping order (but I wouldn't reccomend going last week of January). The weather was great not one day of rain when I was there. The beach is ok, but does it's job none the less. This is not a 5 star hotel. If you are expecting to stay in your room or tan on the beach the whole day this is not the place for you. Plaza Pelicanos Club Section is functional. The room is just bed and bathroom. Personally, I enjoy vacations with travel outside the hotel so this was an ideal location for me. The bus stop to the center (malecon) is close by and there is usually taxis outside the hotel at all times. I really enjoyed my stay here and will definetly go back again. If you're a snob don't go here, if you are a social person with an open mind you will find yourself a family away from home :)

All of the staff was friendly and took great care of us. Our room was clean! The pools were beautiful. There were alot of spring breakers there during our stay and at times were a bit loud - but the hotel security staff did a great job of keeping them in control.

First of all, there are two sides, Pelicanos I and II I stayed on side two in the newer building. The view was fantastic, loved the swim up bar. I was able to see the fireworks from my balcony each night and enjoy the warm ocean breeze, the glass door slid into the wall to give an all open feel to the condo. The food was not a manditory for us, we opted out but we did try it one night and we wouldn't go back, there are so many places to eat around the resort with great food. I would go back to this resort again, it had a nice location, and a nice staff, it was clean and for the most part and not too noisy. It was worth the money. Oh! one more thing, don't do the timeshare, they are a bit pushy.

We stayed here 6/10-6/17 th and loved it the staff was super friendly and very helpful. We paid extra for the grand section and the black bracelets. Our rooms were kept in excellent condition. The food was great specially at the Tamayo international restaurant. We tipped our waiters and our bartenders and had our own cups because the ones served are small and they had our drinks ready as soon as they saw us coming. We couldnt have asked for a nicer stay we have been to PV many times before and stayed at different hotels but i would say that Plaza Pelicanos is in our top two and we have stayed at expensive ones were the service is bad. I would disregard any of the other reviews but i will say stay in the grand section it is more quiet and there are not police and it is nicer. the only down side to my visit here is that it rained a couple days but we still were in the pool and did things. the beach is rocky but you can swim in it we did and road the bananan ride.

A NIGHTMARE! Black Mold everywhere, beds are box spring and matress on the floor, there was a Big Welcome Roach in the room to greet us. OUr belcony ocean view was actually the view of an alley. The all inclusive was about 7 dishes, if you wanted real food you had to pay in the resturant. I only saw one bar by the pool & the service was Terrible. We didnt stay, we went elsewhere, & were promised a refund which we NEVER got. (Not really a surprise there.) Save yourself alot of Grief & stay elsewhere. if you have children over the age of 12 they will charge you for an additional person because they view someone over 12 as an adult. The pools were cold and the jacuzzi lukewarm all week. The walls are so thin you can't sleep at night from all of the noise. When I spoke with the manager he just kept repeating himself and not listening to what I was saying so I could not get anywhere and felt very frustrated. For $300 a night American dollars I would definitely stay somewhere else.

the only thing positive about this place is the comments plugged in by the management writing in comments pretending to be guests. my advice is this, ask lots of questions from people who have actually stayed here. Vacations are special events in your life and you should take the time to make sure your money is well spent. If you need to, spend a few more dollars and make the most of your holiday. Trust me you wont regret it. Schitty soggy food and questionable cloudy pools arent my idea of good value on your holiday. Lets be fair now and offer some positive remarks. This facility has wonderful weather, and offers up an exclusive ocean for you to experience. Also, this facility has access to all the amenities of puerto vallarta.

Five out of eight of our group got food poisoning the day before we departed. This seemed to be the case for most everyone we talked to at plaza pelicanos last week. To be fair I understand a few other resorts had the same problem. The rooms were clean. The beds were hard. The service was ok, on the all-inclusive side the food and service was poor so we started going to the buffet in section 2 which was better. Towards the end of the week we were not allowed to eat there anymore the reason being that it was only for time share guests. Probably had more to do with all the sick people. Anyway this was quite annoying. Needless to say we wil not be back!

The location of the hotel was great! The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable- but we had to upgrade and pay an extra $200 a night to stay in section II which is the remodeled part. The Food on the other hand was not so good. We ate breakfast there every morning- but you have to get there early 9am or before- or the food is cold, and they do not bring out fresh food. Coffee cold every morning. Lunch it is ok..... if you have to eat something fast and it is free. The french fries were good. The drinks are not drinks that you would want to drink for the whole week in Mexico. They are on the low grade side and if you want to upgrade your liquior you have to pay! The pools are ok- cold and not enough chairs for half of the people. The Jacuzzi was cold the whole week we were there even after we complained to every staff memeber- Since everyone we told said we had to go and tell someone else. So that was a huge disappoitment. Dinner-- the only place to try to get into is the Tamayo Cocina Fusion, we ate there 2 nights and the rest we went off the property. The buffet we walked around one night and it looked horrible! Our friends went to the Sushi restaurtant and said it was the worse food ever. The Italian restaurant was "booked" the whole week we were there. Even though we walked past it and only 3 tables were filled. My suggestion is to only plan on eating breakfast there. The location again is great- but drinks and food- the other 2 important part of a vacation were a one star out of five. Not worth doing the all inlcusive. We went out to dinner 5 times during our week stay and ate lunch out everyday except one. Even ordered a pizza one night! Rooms in section II are clean and nice. Beach is small and filled with rocks- nice view only.

We went in 2006 and every aspect of the resort was amazing. Perfect location, just minutes from downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. We are going back this winter, can't wait.
