Room tv stations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/11
I loved the hotel , best location on the strip, you can stumble back from the best bars there. Made the mistake of going not inclusive. beach & pool were great. One thing I would have wanted, FOX cable news. I never realized how boring CNN, BBS, HLN news programing is. I realize there are folks who despise FOX, but I will never believe they themselves don't watch it to get SOME news, and actual exposes of polititians, we are paying, doing goofy things. They show people in the news on film in their own words giving awful speeches , two czars had to quit, and ACORN was brought down. We NEVER see anything bad about the liberals mentioned on the drive-by media stations. Anyhow, the manager at flamingo told me he constantly gets complaints for not carrying FOX , and they are "working on it". Must have a lot of "rich right wing tea party nuts" staying there

Just Okay
By Cheryl, 7/20/10
The deal was great but the buffet, beds, entertainmetn and pool were not! This is an older resort with two small pools. The all inclusive consists of a buffet, poolside grill and a restaraunt off the beach which opens at noon. The buffet offers a limited selection and is not good. The location is great right on the beach and accross the st from margaritaville, la isle mall, senior frog, pat obriens ...etc. Service is good also but hard beds, tiny tv, bar closes at midnight and full price for some of the name brand liquor

Been here twice. Going again in August 2010!
By Chris Vile, 6/23/10
I`ve stayed here twice and it`s seriously a great vacation spot. I`ve read a lot of horror stories about this hotel but yet to have experience it, especially for the price paid. Go with the all-inclusive package because food and drinks are free. All the clubs have a set charge for entry and have an open bar. The buffet is ok but I wouldn`t compare it to Golden Corral or anything like that. The restaurant near the back overlooking the ocean, that requires a reservation, but it taste way better. If you go with the all inclusive package it`s all free anyway. The pool grill doesn`t serve anything special like steaks, or lobster. Both times I`ve been there it`s been burgers, hot dogs, and hot wings. The buffet usually has theme nights, which to me sucks because I don`t go to Mexico wanting to eat Italian or Chinese food. The buffet has Americanized foods, so if you`re looking for authentic Mexican food, ask for the menu. It`s a great location in Cancun with walking distance to clubs, restaurants, and a shopping center. The beach is amazing also. It`s one of the few beaches that don`t have a lot of rocks in your way. The pool has a swim-up bar and grill. The bar inside near the lobby kind of sucks because the bartender always wants a tip for drinks. The hotel has a table setup in the lobby offering different excursions, activities, and night life activities. Do not rent a car while in Cancun because at night cops set up a road block stopping ALL cars that aren`t taxi`s checking to see if you`re drinking. The bus is the best way to get around because the Cancun is literally a straight road back and forth. Hope this helps! oh and the floors are slippery so wear sandals or aqua-socks!

phots are msleading
By Katie, 6/14/09
1st the staff at the hotel were very nice & did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. 6th floor (suites) were blocked off & noone could stay in them. Also, don't expect Internet service............so no need to bring your laptops. Photos of room must have been taken somewhere else or a long time ago because rooms did not look like pictures. Air conditioner did not work, tub leaked in bathroom & beds were hard, floors slippery, Also, the massages were very inappropiate. Naked people exposed so that everyone could see, changed my mind real quick about that experience. Unable to get breakfast as the resturant was closed at that time, unless of course you wanted to take a time share tour (would cover 1 breakfast). The location is good though, across the street from mall & many american based restaurants but unable to find Mexican food (what was up with that)? This was the 1st time I had left the country & do not intend to do it again, too many really nice places to visit in the USA.

Loved It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/09
I just got back on March 20th from my short Mexican vacation. My friend Amanda and I were a little disappointed to find out we did not have an ocean view room. However, when we asked to change rooms, the hotel staff was very willing to help! Anything we wanted we got, except a refrigerator...but we survived. The food was good, but it tasted like everything was cooked in lotsa butter. Overall, the trip went very well. I was completely satisfied and sad to leave. Thanks Flamingo!

Glorified Holiday In
By Fox, 2/21/09
Place for locals and smokers. Clean rooms but photos are NOT accurate. Beds are hard as rocks and sheats are terrible. No BEACH! Plastic cheap chairs. Towels in bathroom are really old.

Pleasant place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/09
As we had never been to Cancun before and got our trip without knowing anything about the Flamingo, we were to say the least alittle apprehensive about staying there. When we got there we upgraded to all inclusive, hich was much cheaper in the long run only costing about 50 dollars per person per day but was woth it. We ate and drank twice that much each day. The hotel was alittle older than we expected but in great shape and right in the middle of the hotel area. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The daily buffet was nice but alittle routine. It was fast and easy to use. The Albatross Restrauant on the Beach was a very nice place to eat and had a wide varity of different meals especially in the evenings, It was a Great place to dine. Just across the street from the hotel was a shopping mall and Jimmy Buffet Margarettaville and a Bubba Gumps and a Pat Obriens Bar and Grill. Within walking distance (about 1 block) was a Big Steak and Lobsiter Place called Lorenzos or something like that. It was FANTASTIC. Senior Frogs was about 5 blocks away. What a fun place to party. You could also take the local city busses about anywhere. The pool area in the hotel was a really great place to be if you didn't want to go to the beach area. The pool had it's own walk or swim up bar and in the afternoons a really great all you can eat grill going, with cheeseburgers hot dogs, nachos with all the trimmings, and really great chicken wings, We spent most of our time there. The beach area was small but connected with other hotels next door to make it seem bigger than it was. The only problem was there was no bar close. You had tp go to the pool area for the nearest bar until afternoon when the Albatross opened up. Be prepared for a rather expensive trip from the airport in. The shuttle vans were 28 dollars. A cab was 56 dollars, but on the return trip, the bell hop got us a cab back to the airport for only 26 dollars. So don't be affraid to ask. Although most employees spoke limited english they tried to understand what you were asking We had beatutiful room right off the pool area with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Great sun raises in the morning. We had a quick week and a very relaxing vacation.

Excellent place to stay!
By Sonia, 8/28/08
I stayed here with my family back in 1991 and it looks (basically) the same now, but a little updating has been done. The staff was very polite and made sure you were taken care of, while the entire resort was spic-and-span clean every moment (it seemed) we were there. We didn't eat very often at the resort, but had nachos/drinks by the pool and the service/quality was good. The views from our room was unbelievable - it doesn't get any better than this! If I visit Cancun again, I will consider staying here again!

Fab hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/24/08
We stayed here for a week before heading to florida, staff were frendily, rooms very clean, didn't pay for breakfast but did eat in the hotel - great omelettes. Good location, 24 hour security, ice freezers, fab strawberry daquiris. Would stay there again if ever back that way
