Hotel De Mendoza, Fracc Guadalajara

Over the past five years, we have stayed at the Mendoza four or five times. The rooms are spacious and very clean, comfortable, and quite elegantly appointed--and all that, alone, is amazing in a building over 300 years old! The staff will do anything to help you--and there's always someone around who speaks English. The food is good and the service in the restaurant is very attentive. The Mendoza is half a block from the huge Guadalajara square, onto which face the Governor's Palace and other Government/Church structures as old as the hotel itself. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The Hotel De Mendoza is one of the prettiest hotels in Guadalajara. It is peaceful because it does not face a major street, therefore there is no traffic noise. This can be a problem with other downtown hotels. My room was very quaint and quiet. I enjoyed the little terrace/balcony overlooking the pool and garden area. I wish the beautiful dining room had more inspiring food, though. The hotel is slightly overpriced, but I did enjoy the tasteful colonial motif throughout the building. The location is perfect if you want to hang out in the beautiful plazas surrounding the cathedral. The staff is very cordial and helpful. In spite of the price, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located in the heart of Gudalajara; right in the city's center. The location is beautiful and it is perfect to take a walk. In addition, the safety of the hotel is exellent and they even have a garage if you bring a car with you. The food is more than mediocre and the prices are not bad. The rooms are great, roomy, and confortable. Overall, this hotel is more than average; the best thing about it is that it is located in the best part of Gudalajara, which is the center.
