Everything top notch all the way!
By Mary, 06/25/09
Loved this hotel and everything about it. This hotel is in a great location. Even though we realized they were not at full staff because of obvious reasons for travel cut backs we had no problems with any kind of service. They are generous with their towels and products as well as fresh bottled water they leave in the room. The restaurants are both fabulous. We rented a car from the hotel with no problems and help was always available. The Scuba Du set up is top of the line as well as just the snorkeling just outside our room. Truly a place to return to over and over again!

Love Hotel - but had trouble with rental dive gear
By Waltraud, 04/26/09
We just returned from Cozumel, Intercontinental Presidente. Had a Reef Room Deluxe, paid over $ 5000 just for the room (ocean front). My 4th stay in this hotel shows, that I really like it - it is just a very supreme property, peace full and quiet - the staff is very friendly and we must have had a cleaning team keeping up with our room 6 times/day. All in all I liked it very much again, but took notice of the fact that the restaurant prices from 5 years ago had doubled. My husband loves to sit outside in the evening and look over the ocean/ hear the ocean (this was the main reason why he wanted this room this time and why we paid that much). We both got so bitten up by little flies around our ankles that we had to give up the sitting outside on the patio after the 2nd evening. The hotel should have fogged the terraces. The room came with "butler service" - only, we never saw a butler. One item we needed was a different glass pot for the coffee machine in which we could heat up some water for our tea that didn't smell like coffee - and we asked - but the hotel staff was unable to bring a such pot. The room was definitely not worth the price. Last time I was at this resort was before "Wilma". The shore dives were just beautiful then - the reef along the beach at the hotel are severely damaged but are coming now back a little bit. I liked the dive center "Scuba Du" all these years. But this trip we had 3 episodes with their regulators: 1) just when ready to start our beach dive, my husband couldn't use his rented regulator: In the mouth piece - the left pronge was completely missing and he had to go back to the dive center to exchange for a better one. 2) On his 2nd and third dive a few days later - his newly rented regulator was not working 100% properly (letting sometimes less air thru). 3) On my last day of diving (my husband didn't go diving that day) - and I have done over the years altogether at different dive locations approx. 160 dives - I was with the group down at 80 feet. We were about 10 Min. into the dive and my regulator made this noise - then gave very little air out. I tried to make it going again. No luck with that - couldn't get my reserve octupus out - tried to catch attention from anybody incl. dive master - no good luck with that - they were about 15 feet in front of me and moving further away. While working on my regulator, making signals to them, trying to get the reserve regulator out I lost time and my regulator stopped working completely - 10 seconds later (which seemed to be an eternity - I decided to go up - slowly. I still tried to get it going again - over and over. My reserve so tucked away that I couldn't reach it and I started to forget about it. I did let the air out of my lungs while going slowly up - not knowing whether I would pass out any moment and possibly loosing my life. But I stayed alive and made it back to the boat. - I decided to go later on the 2nd dive with the group with a new regulator, a lady was willing to lend her 2nd one to me. That went well. (I didn't want to leave Cozumel on a such loosing experience on my previous dive). In reference to the dive master: I only would go with one of their mexican ones with lots of years of experience. Back home, my right ear gave me trouble - infected - now under control with antibiotics - it will heal also the hole in my ear drum. I informed the dive center of their inferior equipment (which I think, has not been properly maintained lately). Possibly reason: the income losses after "Wilma". Nevertheless: I decided not to rely on their rental equipment anymore. I buy our own regulators and BC's (and I bought already some aluminum rings - the one you use possibly as a key ring - which we will put into our BC pockets - with those - banging at my tank - I could have gotten the attention from s.o. in our dive group). I love diving very much and still will have many dives. I'm certainly happy and thankful to be still alive.

A true getaway
We just returned from seven nights in Cozumel, three of which we spent in a beachfront room at the Presidente. It's a good thing we saved this hotel for the end of our trip, because once we arrived we never wanted to leave. From our room's huge, private outdoor shower to the delicious Mayan dishes at the restaurant (Caribeno), we had everything we needed. We took a wonderful snorkel trip with Scuba Du, enjoyed the two-for-one drinks every evening, lounged under the palapas drinking naranjadas (fresh orange juice and seltzer), and generally forgot about the outside world. I would definitely go back to the Presidente.

A place you will never forget!
By Peter, 05/01/08
The service was great and the staff as well. The water crystal clear and warm. Not many activities to do on resort, but just rent a Jeep and explore the Island. Very easy to walk out your room and into the water for snorkling and swimming. I will go back soon and enjoy all over again...this time with my child.

Great Vacation to just relax!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/23/08
Great Staff, great food, great drinks, fun pool area, nice beach, walking distance to San Jose del Cabo. This place was just what we needed to get away from New Orleans. The ONLY thing bad was the Time Share sellers at the Airport. But if you just keep walking til you get outside they will leave you alone. Other wise thanks El Presidente for a really great vacation!

Fouth Visit in Five Years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/08
This is our 4th visit and the hotel was booked but you would never know it. The staff is just that good. Many families and the total culture of the place is friendly beyond compare. The quality of service sets the tone for everyone including your fellow guests. Everyone is so nice. Our kids instantly made friends with other kids. We even went out on the town with another family we met. The beauty of the sea and sand is simply stunning every time. We will be back - soon.

Absolutely Fantastic
By Sally, 03/24/08
This hotel is magnificent; the attention to deetail and client base is above and beyond the call of duty. With a fantastic staff who jumps at the idea that you might need something, and a managment team who supports these efforts - the Presidente is a place I can't help but want to visit for EVERY vacation. We loved our divemasters, bartenders, poolside staff, and concierge - what a place!

Excellent Christmas Vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/08
We stayed at the Presidente for the first time during Chrismas of 2007, after spending the last several years in Grand Cayman. The service could not have been better. The room was very clean and comfortable with a direct view of the ocean. Food was very good. The wine list was awesome, but very, very expensive. Scuba Du, the on site dive shop could not be better. We left our gear at the dive shop where the attendant washed out our wetsuits, hung them to dry and then repacked the gear and put it on the boat the next day. What a luxury not having to lug the gear back and forth every day. Just tip the attendant $100 and everyone is happy! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an upscale dive trip. Do not come here expecting to save money.

WOW!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/03/07
Outstanding experience. The service was great - friendly, sincere and attentive. We inspected several rooms before we finally chose our room for the stay and opted for the Beach Front rooms which are fully refurbished and have indoor and outdoor showers, bathtubs, terraces, etc. I would recommend these rooms or the Ocean Suites in the upper floors of the tower. Food was good throughout the restaurants and bars - really loved the beach and pool service. The spa was great and while we did not use the tennis courts or gym, they looked great. Truly recommendable experience! Nothing like this in Cozumel, and it is better than the crowds at Playa.

Even Better Since Hurricane
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/07
Our family loves our trips to the Presidente. Can't beat it for a relaxed family time. Such beauty and the staff is outstanding, so friendly. Upon our first post-hurricane trip the facilities are even better. Our rooms were updated and in top shape. They added a large adult only secluded pool, a nice touch for the romanic visitors or time away from the kids. We will be returning again and again.
