Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Spa All-Inclusive, 5 de Diciembre

This was our first trip to Mexico Jan. 2008 We stay at the Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Spa. It was great! The people were very friendly, they always greated us with a smile and happy words. The food was excellent, and had a nice variety for the week we were there. The rooms were very clean. Over all the people who were guests there were of the older generation, which was very nice! I would go back in a heart beat and stay again. Loved the shopping and culture. Recomend you take the Sierra Madre Expedition! It was beautiful, the bull fights are not for everyone, make sure you don't mind things being killed in front of you if you are planning on going. Take a bus, that is one thing I regret not doing, but hubby didn't want to take the chance. Just make sure to read the windows of the bus to see where it is going. Enjoy the sights, we sure did!!

We took our frist trip to PVR this summer - July 2007. I choose the Beuenaventrua for the locations and paid extra to have a room with an ocean view. When we arrived at 4pm the room was not ready-that was OK but it was 6pm before we could go in. We waited in the bar/resturant near the pool and ordered nachos, 4 small tacos and a few beers...I don't recommend the nachos, chips and cheese whiz (really!) and charged us $25.00 plus tip. We did not go all inclusive and gald we did not. The only other meal we ate there was one buffett breakfast for way more than you would pay in the states. Anyway food aside--the room was a bit crowded with the king sized bed but but jucuzzi was awesome! I have seen some who complained there was sand on the floors--well duh you are on a beach people track sand inside and you just walked arcoss it right into your room. The house keeping staff works very hard to keep it at a bare minimum and I have no complaints there. The A/C worked great and being able to walk the neighborhoods and into old town was wonderful too. I would recommend this to my family.

Too many drunk kids around the pool. Poor service. Food too expensive. Not worth it!!! Stay nearer downtown or Old Vallarta and Eat at Mama Dolores

Responsive staff. Clean,basic food,good pools, walk to town,or just cross the road to restaurants and small shops. WE stayed allinclusive this time.We recomend this hotel for familys.

You can walk to the Malecon and Downtown Puerto Vallarta easily. Many shops nearby. The front desk and some management are not friendly and one was actually rude at the front desk. It made our trip this time rather uncomfortable. We will not stay here again though the most of the staff are wonderful. Be forwarned.

One of the best beaches in the area. Great staff as well everything else. Not sure what everyone else in the reviews has been complaining about the mold and smell, because there was none, although those reviews were writen in 2005 and 2004; from the look of it, the hotel has had a major reconstruction done to it. Would recommend it to everyone.

During our one week stay we had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed great food and excellent hospitality. We did not purchase the most expensive and were still very pleased. The only thing we didn't care for was the wrist bands. Be careful not to throw them away if you cut them off like we did. Actually, be careful not to loose anything you sign for at arrival. They will charge you for it. Other than that, it's a great place. At first we walked to down town but became quickly annoyed with the hawkers and then took taxi's. It's not expensive but can add up. We discovered an excellent restaurant Viejo Vallarta. It's just across from the seahorse with the little boy on it on the Malecon. It's up three flights of stairs but worth the climb. Excellent food!!!! Another great place is Steak Brazil. There's so much for our first week. We'll be going back and again to the Buenaventura. That means "Great Adventure". Be sure to go to the Tiki Lounge out by the ocean. What a hoot that gets to be after dark. Signed,,,, Cowboy

There was nine of us that went in Feb.2006. The food was great. the pool was warm, and the staff was friendly. The only problem was the rooms. Two of the rooms were on the street side. The noise was so loud you could'nt sleep. They got switched in a couple of day's. There were a lot of guests complaining about the same thing. We went all inclusive and they used very cheap booze in there drinks. Ever heard of a name brand of Tequila named TUNA?

There was nothing to dislike about this Hotel, the service,food,drinks and friendly staff made it a great vacation. I can honestly say I would be back today if I could. Great hotel, keep it up.

good value for the dollar. Staff were friendly and helpful. Besides the pool...no amenities. Location is perfect to walk downtown. Tv changer was exchanged three times, never did work. No clocks in rooms
