We loved the place!!
For all of those who don’t know what to expect…
At our arrival at Cancun airport, we were greeted by many friendly tour advice guides. They are very informative, giving you advice on trips and even how to not get taken advantage of by the taxi drivers. They will offer you great deals on day trips, however the catch is that you have to go with them to tour a new hotel and will ask you for $20 to reserve the tour. This was an akward beginning to our vacation, we would advise that you walk past all the tour guides, go straight to the shuttle pick-up where you will see the company you booked. Ours was Best Day, and they were very easy to identify.
After about 30 minutes, we arrived to Temptation Resort. The hotel is beautiful, very modern, clean, and with friendly staff. At check-in the desk clerk will advise you to meet with someone to give you a tour of the facilities. They also call this the “welcome package.” After reading other reviews, we opted to skip out since it is another atempt to sell you a timeshare of sorts. We told them we would come back later for the tour (without having the intention of returning), which was a mistake, since they would not stop calling us until we told them we weren’t interested.
The down side of course from avoiding the salespitch was that we didn’t receive the tour of the resort and had to figure things out on our own. It was pretty simply though to take a walk around the resort and ask some employees and other guests a few questions to figure where everything was located. It was very easy to find the restaurants, pools and the activities for the day.
The center of attention is around the sexy pool. The activities of the day are posted on the board in front of the sexy pool. The games are funny, nothing too crazy, so don’t get your hopes up, but it was more fun when the audience participated. The craziest thing we saw was the naked volleyball game. While you sip you strip. The bartenders are super friendly, and cocktail servers are everywhere. Drinks are of course watered down but, imagine if they weren’t, you’d be drunk in a few hours and miss all the action.
Every night there is a different show or theme party. The shows start around 9:00 and last about an hour and a half. After that the crew will entice you to a night out at one of their sponsered clubs. We visited the CT Nightclub with a group from the hotel. We paid $45 which included transportation to the club, entrance, and all you can drink with bottle service, and a VIP area for the group. The place was phenomenal, picture a club in vegas, the sound, the special effects, and the dancers were mind-blowing. If you decide to stay at the resort, there are three lounge bars to choose from.
We also took a trip to Isla Mujeres. We booked the trip through the hotel, but make sure you take extra cash and sunscreen. It’s $5 per person at the dock. The trip is all day and if you drop your sunscreen in the water like we did, you’ll be paying atleast $20 for a small bottle of sunscreen. The trip was full of activities, including snorkeling, a mellow version of paragliding, lunch, and an hour to shop the local artesians.
The restaurants are great, we loved the Asian place. It wasn’t too packed so we were able to walk right in without a reservation. They do have a dress code, make sure you dress appropriately. There is a breakfast and lunch buffet, as well as the snack bar that seems to be open 24/7. The food is great, they have anything you can ask for. We totally recommend this place. You are going to have a great time!!!
