Temptation Resort Spa, Cancun

We love the atmosphere at Temptation. The staff is excellent and the food is world class. The staff at the sail boat rental booth are excellent, a big shout out to Jose and Luis!!! Boris, the scuba diving guide, is awesome. The staff at the resort are of the highest caliber and nothing but our satisfaction is on their mind the whole time we are there. We highly recommend this resort and feel that sooner or later we will go back and pick-up where we left off!

This place is not perfect, but what place is? Me and my boyfriend went to get away from the drama at home and spend quality time together. What we got was a place that we want to go back to again and again! Like i said....not perfect but definetly worth going back. so we did. it is what you make of it hopefully u go with somebody that you can be comfortable with, laugh, and be prepared for "annything goes" or just have a quiet time together. The food is really good but after 7 days i couldnt wait to get a pizza! The rooms are clean and sexy, the staff is accomdadating and if you are there with the one that makes you happy to be with....HAVE A GREAT TIME! you will! Cant wait to go back!

My fiancé and I went to Temptations Cancun in mid July 2011. We had a great experience. Strongly recommend for all mature young adults. The resort was beautiful. The decor very trendy.  Our studio room was very nice. Strong AC. I only have 2 complaints... there was no tub for bubble baths and the bed was too hard. Everything was clean and the grounds were kept very well. The staff was helpful, friendly and fun. The day time activities and pool side games at the sexy pool were a blast. There are games, sports and contest all day. Good theme DJ parties at night.The atmosphere was very laid back. When we went in July the sun was super strong and blazing hot so the ocean and pool water were warm. You need to make reservations in advance at some of the restaurants. Food was good. Buffet food was just ok. The alcohol drinks didn't seem strong enough at all times so you have to tell bartenders to make it double if you just even want to get a buzz. I would recommend to buy top shelf liquor at airport when you land and bring it to your room.  Another thing to do at airport is to change your US dollars to pesos right away . Get a lot of singles for tipping. It goes a long way. If you dont use cash then you have to use credit card, no debit cards. We did the snorkeling catamaran tour to Isla de Mujeres. That was great. Must do! We rented jet skis $40 for half hour and got a couples massage. Fun.  All in all we loved this place so much we became premiere VIP members. I dont think you will get all the great perks without VIP wristbands (room service, discounts, exclusive food menus and personal butler on the beach) We will be back again and again!

The resort is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The food was excellent and the service was great. Everyone was very accomodating. Request a room overlooking the quiet pool. I am a gay male and although the resort welomes GBLT travelers, I would not recommend it to single gay males. I did have a great time, but there were not many GBLT people there. If you are a straight couple/single looking for a mild spring break type experience (25-45) some older some younger, then this is an excellent optiion.

I stayed at Temptations last April after hearing about the fantastic time my family had the year before. I listened all year to what a wonderful and amazing time my family had, believe me I was skeptical that it could come close to living up to the hype! It didn't, it far exceeded it! Not only was the hotel beautiful but every single staff member was friendly to our entire party. The entertainment staff was exceptional, encouraging people to have fun but certainly never force anyone to do anything they didn't want to. I don't think it comes as any surprise to anyone but if you yell at people and constantly complain about everything, you are probably no going to get the great service ever... just a fact of life anywhere. As for complaints of topless women, come on... really? The resort is called TEMPTATIONS!!! Did you not do any research before your vacation or honeymoon? If the name didn't give it away its says right on the website, Topless optional! Two of the complaints I have read I understand, if you have a room near the patio lounge you probably wont sleep unless you wait until 5 or 6 am to go to bed, it does get pretty loud so if that is a concern make sure ahead of time to request a room away from it. The beach itself is nice however the surf if covered in seaweeds that get raked out daily, but the always seem to collect right back, so its not really the place to go if you want to spend a lot of time in the ocean. The pool does close after dark for safety reasons. The story I heard from the staff was that a drunken couple dived head first into the pool one night after having 12 to many.... the water is only 3-4 feet deep in the entire pool, not built for diving. I thought the rooms themselves were very nice, the beds where comfortable, nice big showers, minibar restocked daily. The food its self is pretty good, the buffet is of course all inclusive as well as the Tex-Mex place which is awesome, but the specialty restaurants are an extra charge. The drinks themselves are great, they do not water it down, however tough I do not know for sure I do believe that they moderate how much alcohol they pour in the drinks once they determine that you are smashed, which I believe is a good thing. Of course tipping i gets you better service, this is true EVERYWHERE! Remember though, we are talking pesos... a good tip come out to like 25 cents every couple of drinks if that. These people are working hard, they deserve tips. All of that said I think the part I enjoyed the most were the other guests. If you come there while a good attitude willing to have a good time with fun people there is no place like it! But for crying out loud, if you're looking for quite, time this is not the place for you. I plan to make this an annual thing I plan to go every year around mid April, so if you see me say hello, I'm be the one having a great fucking time! Chase

We were there for the first time back in April. Perfect weather, room was fantastic, AC was freezen cold, showers were always hot. Activities by the pool were fantastic. (although we did stay at the adult pools for the entire time) games were awesome. We met tons of people there, still stay in touch with them now. Food was great. If your standing in line you should have made reservations, or go to the buffet as the food there is perfect. The buffet is small and by that I mean not huge trays so the turn over on fresh food is high. There is both local and North American food on the buffet so it's hard to go wrong. As for the booze, your at the pool drinking out of a large coffee mug if you brought one. We checked the web site blogs before we went down so we knew what the tour was about and I'll tell ya what, I didn't go and neither did my wife, so for not buring off 90 minutes I didn't recieve a voucher that I never had to begin with...DUH! At any rate, this place has the highest repeat customer return for an adult resort and I can see why, it's like Saturday of a long weekend every day...the most important part is its what you make of it, and "no one knows your name so who give a sh#$t!" right. Can't wait to go back in 9 months.

It was the worst experience my wife and I have ever had at a resort. There was constantly people trying to sell you stuff when you want to relax. We were told it was all inclusive but when you got to a restaurant after standing in line for 30 minutes and waiting a day to eat their good food and wine was an extra charge. The alcohol they gave you was bottom shelf unless you specifically asked for top shelf. They did not restock anything in the room and on top of that the room was absolutely disgusting. The bed was hard and we had a view of an extremely busy road. The staff expected a tip and many times was rude if you did not tip them. The beaches were covered in sea weed and the food was terrible (I guess it wasn’t a bad thing because it did not allow me to gain weight). The pool closed down really early when people were just starting to have fun which did not make a bit of sense. There is no way I would ever recommend a resort like this to anyone. When we complained about everything we were told “you get what you pay for”. I think the people that write good reviews to this place were either drunk their entire time or work for the hotel! Don’t waste your money, save up for some place nice. Lastly I almost forgot to talk about the cockroaches we seen every night we were there, they were big. It was so nasty we have to keep our stuff outside until it all gets washed fearing to contaminate our house.

This place is not only the best value in Cancun but has great service, staff and food. There is always activties for those who like to keep busy with pool side games, including pool and beach sports. The staff is tons of fun and treat you like family. Trust them to help you have fun. For others who like a quite relaxing time there is a whole side of the hotel with it own pool for relaxing. If you are looking to get out and hit the bars and clubs the hotel has bus trips every night to the hottest spots and Temptations get VIP areas and treatment everywhere you go. If you are going to Cancun to go out to club at night this is the best hotel for you. Skiping the lines and having reserved seating in Cacun is key, big time! Great place for active singles, and young couples.

This place is a high pressure sales pitch to get you to purchase something you do not intend too. Further, they have you sign waivers that waive your rights to rescind your contract and state you will no receive a refund on your deposit. Very fraudulent sales tactics. Now about the resort, drinks are tiny, have to wait in line for hours every morning to get a reservation for a restaurant or you will be eating at the Barfay for the 6th night in a row. You will not get a seat by the sexy pool because you are waiting in line for the restaurant reservations. Swingers welcome. We were stalked for 3 days by another couple. Very annoying. The beach in pathetic. Seaweed everywhere, and a rocky bottom if you think your going for a swim. The resort is surrounded with boats. Your basically between two marinas. Oh and they will try to entice you off the resort so you will stop drinking their booze by providing nightly excursions to the clubs at an extra 45-50 USD per night per trip. Whatever happened to All-inclusive being all-inclusive. No night life after 9pm. This was the biggest waste of a hard earned dollar I have ever experienced.

I made my reservation in November, was sent an email 3 day prior to my departure that I was confimred, then I get there and they are over booked. They send us to a sucky hotel and said it's 5 star NOT. Then want to offer us a free future stay with them good only upto a year NOT! NEVER AGAIN I don't even want to go back to Cancun. I want my money back!
