Sportsman's Lodge, Candle Lake

Sportsman's Lodge has been a yearly destination for 3 generations of my family for over 30 years. The fishing cannot be beat for big Northern Pike or Walleye on the Churchill River system where the lodge is located on Macintosh Lake. This fly in only lodge is staffed with friendly competent people including many guides who have been there for over a decade, a wonderful camp staff and a fine establishment. Walleye fishing is our favorite and we have caught them over 7 lbs and as many as 50 per day per person on our best day. Northern pike to over 50" are possible and my best was a 44 incher taken in 2005. I leave in the morning to go back up to see my friends and take my sons to the same place my Dad took me. No TV, No Radio, No Cell phones, (there is now wi-fi at the Lodge) which makes the trip all the more enjoyable as it is a true "getaway" destination. Camp opens in early June and closes in August so the season is short, but the day's are long and you will enjoy a great breakfast, shore lunch and dinner all prepared for you each day along with housekeeping every day and a staff that will do anything they can to make your stay more enjoyable.
