A good Hotel in a great city
By Rebecca W, 4/23/08
This hotel was actually very pretty and comfortable to stay in. I liked the location because it was near the conference I was working at and near the entertainment district as well as the shopping district. I would certainly enjoy staying at the Hilton Toronto again.

One of the best hotels in Toronto
By VictorR, 4/11/08
Well i got this hotel from hotwire so it was a fraction of the regular price. The room was great but a bit cold. We had a fire alarm go off in the morning but i had to get up anyway. All in all a great hotel.

Old and tired
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/08
The hotel design is lovely, and some rooms are nice, but some are TERRIBLE for this class of hotel. The one I'm in now has shabby grungy puckered carpet, dinged and marked furniture and paint, a bathroom with mold around the bath, a cracked and pocked sink, the finish on the sink faucet ground away by cleaning, holes in the wall from some appliance now removed, peeling wallpaper, and scratched and crooked mirrors. All this I'd expect in a $79 motel, but it seems very out of place in a supposedly high class business hotel in the heart of Toronto.

Good and not so good.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/08
Well I loved the pool and the great location. The parking garage is a maze but you just have to get though that. But, during my stay at 3:30 am the fire alarm went off. The duty manger came on and said they were Investigating it and 20 min later she said it was a false alarm. Over all I had a great time and it is a great hotel!

Hilton Hotel is the Best
By =m=, 10/17/06
The place is awsome to be at and the service is great!!! Also, I think the design inside the hotel is really great too.Indeed, I think they can also improve more on the location and probably it's better to improve on the "increase items" in the hotel rooms!!

Stayed there Thanksgiving weekend 2005. The Downtown hilton toronto is definitely a business hotel. My wife and I tried to do a late 'check in' only to receive a room with 2 beds because the rooms with one bed are on the 'first come-first serve' basis. The next morning we were told that we could be moved to a room with one bed and the hotel staff will take care of our luggage if we were out. They did that. The whole weekend that we were there there were parties and corporate events going on in the B level of the hotel and the lobby was constantly buzzing with people. The staff made their best to sheild the guests of the hotel from this, but there is only so much they can do. The parking at the hotel was definitely not for the faint of heart. 3 nights cost us 70C. There is a bright spot however - The Tundra restaurant is top of the line. You must try it for dinner. The service is great and food even better. The outdoor pool was available to us and presented a great opportunity to swim in it while the outside temp was 40F. The pool is heated and was quite nice and relaxing. The beds however were not so. They were rigid and not comfy. Another cool feature of this hotel were the 2 elevators that ran on the outside of the building giving you the view of toronto. They couldve designed it a little better - the view is not that great because it is blocked by the side walls. The location is close to the Eden Center and System Soundbar nightclub, so it was very nice not to worry about a long trip home at night. I did not pay the food price for this hote as I booked it with priceline, so this was a definite value for me. if you are paying the full price for this hotel - not worth it. Try the restaurant though. You will not be disappointed.

Great location for downtown Toronto
By Shane, 9/15/05
The location is perfect to enjoy the many restaurants and bars easily within walking distance, or a short cab ride if desired. The rooms were good sized and well maintained... The beds here were great and very new linens and extra pillows! Very clean and very nice staff.

Great location --- friendly front-desk staff
By Even, 5/24/05
I have stayed in the hotel for perhaps 400 days in the past four years. It's at the corner of Richmond and University in prime downtown. You're right close to the financial services district and you can walk from the hotel to almost anywhere downtown, for business or entertainment. The hotel's dining room is very good, and there's a Ruth's Chris in the building as well. Views of Toronto from rooms on upper floors are great. Some room lines even have small windows you can open for REAL ventilation. Minuses for me were the overly warm and stuffy corridors and elevators; sameness of the rooms; carpeting in rooms that seemed to be getting worn; noisy and sometimes ineffective air-conditioning. The fitness room was a bit small and cluttered with too much equipment for the size of the room. If there were four people working out at the same time, it felt "kinda crowded" in there. Rates are OK, and the hotel doesn't hesitate to accept various kinds of corporate discounts and to honor discount rates if you're visiting a local client which has an established discount rate at the property. Finally, there's always a cheery "welcome back," and until there's a super hotel in Toronto, I will continue to stay at the Hilton

They've got what you need
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/4/05
Service was excellent, minus the person in charge of room service. Location is perfect. The hotel is connected to the Path, which is very helpful for those chilly days. The Tundra provides Canadian cuisine, and Ruth Chris' Steak House is also connected.
