Stay here if you are visiting Toronto!
By Deb, 07/03/09
This Sheraton was a VERY refreshing change from the horrid Sheraton on the Falls at Niagra. Beginning with our arrival and the helpful valets who rushed to assist us to the wonderful Marilyn who checked us in early and was ever so helpful, our stay was magnificant! Our every need was met, and met beyond the expected service. The Bistro on Two had a very extravagent American breakfast and the staff there was amazing. The Trader was awesome with impeccable service as well. Every question was answered and answered with grace and efficiency. Other than in the home of a relative, I couldn't have been treated any better by everyone involved with this hotel. It is a must for a Toronto visit!

Can't stand the heat? Stay away from this hotel!
By Benjamin, 07/01/09
We had a very negative experience with this hotel. Several staff members were rude and the hotel refused to fix our air conditioning. Thus, the room temperature never dropped below 77 degrees, and it was too hot for our 11 month old son to sleep. So our overly tired son was very fussy and bothered the neighbors -- who kept asking us to keep him quiet. The hotel was not responsive to any of our concerns (or those raised by hundreds of others attending the same conference). We will never stay at this hotel again.

Great experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/09
Just returned from a one night stay. We had the theatre deal, room, tickets for show and a meal. Excellent location, staff extremely nice and helpful, The beds were so comfy; our only complaint was the noice from a fan in the bathroom; we closed the door when we went to sleep. Also, the desk was dusty and the door looked like it had something yucky spilled on it at one time; however, we hardly spent any time in the room. It did have an excellent view.

Mixed Review
By CHS Class of '78, 12/24/08
I got a good rate on the Internet so I took advantage of it. The staff was mixed. Bartender was French and seemed to have a attitude towards Americans. Didn't speak much English and didn't want to converse much about anything. Beer, local hot spots, whatever. Every time I ordered a drink he printed out my tab and gave it to me to pay. I guess I looked like i couldn't pay. At other bars in Toronto when I offered to pay every round they looked at me strange so I guess it was the Sheraton. Disappointing since at other bars like the Four Points Sheraton in Savanna the bar tender was superb, conversational and offered tips on good places to eat in town. The staff was professional as one would expect. They corrected a phone call error on my part and I was grateful. The computer lounge was $$$ per hour but useful. The only problem I observed was a striking lady shadowing me with a gentleman nearby. Swinging her leg and giving me that look I could only surmise she was either a undercover Toronto finest officer or a very expensive lady of the night. Either way she was a unwelcome distraction. The parking staff was not knowledgeable about local good spots to dine or entertain. The conicere was helpful in finding out some information for me. Thanks. The room was clean and decent. Overall I would have to rate my stay at Hilton's and the Four Points above this Sheraton. If you can get a discount it's worth it.

Not Too Many Like It...One Of A Kind
By Taj W, 08/11/08
I first arrived at the Sheraton Centre Hotel on July 23rd, 2008. After an early morning flight from New York to Toronto and then a long train ride to the hotel, I was beat. My assistant, Angelina, was even exhausted than I, as she arrived via bus and was at the hotel since 8:00AM. When we walked to the reservation desk, a hotel concierge named Max Choy was more than happy to assist us and was extremely accomodating. We exchanged friendly banter, and then I mentioned that we came to Toronto to celebrate Angelina's birthday. He told me that he would upgrade the room for use free of charge. It was so kind of him and so unexpected. Not only that, he gave us a great listing of places to go and things to do. As someone who used to wrok in customer service, I realize that it's the little things such as this that makes one's trip even that much more special. Anyway, Angelina and I eneded up getting a room on the 39th floor with a spectacular view of the citty and the CN Tower, which lite up and changed various colors at night. Also, the great thing is that we were steps away from everything in the scity. The hotel room itself was extremely nice and very comfortable. Also, the Club Lounge...I don't know how to describe it...it's indescribible...it's like God's Waiting Room. You have to see it for yourself to understand. All, in all, the trip was amazing and the outstanding customer service provided by Max made my visit to Toronto more than I ever hoped for. Unique Qualities: Clean rooms, perfrect temperature settings and daily changing of towels made this a place that I want to come to again. Also, a nice flat screen TV and free internet (providing you use the telephone cable).

One of the best places to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/08
The best view. Clean. The beds are amazing. Service very friendly and not stuffy. Prime location close to everything. If you want to save money the hot dog stands are very good, maybe the best I have had. Subway station right there. Save money and park in the underground city parking lot instead of paying 30+ dollars a day. There is really no need to drive unless you are going to leave downtown. If you want some cheap Vietnemse food try XE Lua in China Town. Or the Korean Grill House on Queen ST. I promise you will not be disapointed or broke.

Great Experience
By Chad, 11/26/07
The beds are great, the staff was very friendly, and steak house on the property was wonderful. Wi-fi is expensive in the rooms, but you can use it for free in the lobby. Overall I was very pleased with my stay and would stay here again.

Wonderful Time
By HaafizB, 07/06/07
My best friend and I took a road trip to Toronto and stayed at this hotel last weekend. We had a great time and we were pleasantly surprised with the value of the hotel. The room was a good size, not too big and not too small. Best of all the room smelled nice and clean - no foul odors which is usually my biggest pet peeve with hotels. The beds were even comfortable and the pillows were amazing! My best friend mentioned wanting to purchase them from the hotel. The bathroom was clean and had all proper supplies. Below the hotel was a sorta underground mall with cafes, money exchange, and stores - very convenient. What we do not like was the fact that this hotel had zero movie channels - no HBO or Showtime. Neither of us have ever been to a hotel with no premium channels before. We also were not happy with the fact that you have to pay $9 bucks to use the gym unless you have a room on the Club Floor. We were not going to pay $9 bucks for a gym with no visible special amenities. The pool area looked okay, it was being cleaned when we showed up. The waterfall inside the hotel lobby was a nice touch and the check-in area was very nice. The staff was helpful and check-in and check-out were quick. Someone removed a fire extinguisher off the wall in the hotel and the fire alarm went off at like 1am and the intercoms in each room went off. The hotel actually has speakers inside each room where the alarm goes off and the front desk makes announcements into the room. I'd never experienced this before and the alarm turned out to be a false alarm, however, the alarm and the front desk kept sounding off for like 15 minutes which got annoying. I wish they'd told us whether to evacuate the hotel or to ignore the alarm but they just left the hotel guests guessing. I heard some folks outside in the hallway asking each other what to do. I just decided to take a shower and the noise ended shortly after and I went to bed. All that aside, I'd definitely stay there again. The view outside my window was also wonderful and we were only on the 7th flr across from the park.

Location
By junetta, 07/02/07
In the 19 years that we have been visiting Toronto (every year at least once except for the year of the power blackout) I have stayed at the Sheraton Centre three times. The first two times that we stayed at the hotel were in 1988 and then again in 1989. It was then a good hotel with a great location for anyone visiting Toronto for the first time. Located accross the street from City Hall and what was then Eaton Centre and about 4 blocks from Front Street and the Neddle (tallest free standing structure in the world) it is a great place to start exploring the city. Last year we again returned to the Sheraton Centre and found it a really improved first class hotel as good or better that any we have experienced in Toronto. A testament to that is that we are booked at the Sheraton for this year as well.
