Travelodge Niagara Falls, Niagara Falls

After reading the reviews on this hotel and shopping around we decided to book this hotel. Upon entering our "smoke-free" room the first thing we noticed was the smell of cigarette smoke, followed by extreme coldness (the heat was turned down as low as it would go, and yes we had booked the room a month prior to our trip). We immediately then began hearing a whistling sound coming from our balcany door and noticed that our curtains were blowing from the wind that was entering in through the door and from under the window. Yes it was a windy night but I live in a windy city and our doors and windows don't leak air like that. It IS right in the middle of everthing but that also means it is very loud. So we tried to turn the fan on the air conditioner but found that you could only have either the heater or the air-conditioner on by this light-switch on the wall, since it was 0 degrees C we had to have the heat on. Needless to say we called the front desk and they kindly refunded our money and we went elsewhere to stay. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you were to stay here in the summer, but I definetely would not recommend it in the winter.

Great location, nice and clean hotel, resonable, friendly staff and helpful. Able to get this room at a day in advance at a affordable price. A view of the parking lot was not the nicest but we enjoyed the experience and the gift shop has great bargins.

We loved the fact that when we needed something, someone was there to help, but otherwise left us alone. Privacy is a big thing to us!

We started staying here when it was the Honeymoon city motel. The first year my husband and I went to the Falls we stayed on the American side but ended up paying much more for the our room and found that most of the things we wanted to see were on the other side. So the next time we visited we stayed here, and every year after that. After the first two years or so we started getting friends to come with us because it was such a good deal. We usually get the falls view rooms, which has a pretty good view, we always traveled there in the winter months(the falls are beautiful in the winter). They usually offer some kind of package which includes your room and dinner for one night and some entertainment tickets. What I really like is that it's in the middle of everything. We ended up walking everywhere. Your in the heart of it all. The only down side is that we usually traveled in the winter months and that the summer rates are higher.
