Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/09
We stayed at the Holiday Inn (Airport West) for the May long weekend and had a terrific time. This is a great hotel, especially if you have children. They took full advantage of the pool and play structure and slept like babies, which was great for us! I was a little wary after I read some of the reviews posted here, but this hotels' greatest asset is the staff. They were wonderful--not rude or condescending etc. They made us feel welcome, so much so, I felt compelled to write this review. Great place to stay.

Sub Standard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/09
I've had to stay at this place twice for work because my company gets a really cheap rate, however beware of the food. The facility itself is in need of a total restructuring, the rooms are small and the fixtures and styling is lacking even for a Holiday Inn. The places biggest shortfall is the restaurant, the food is bad, and I've been forced to sample a wide section of the menu. I tasted metal cleaner on my awful pizza twice, liquidy cheaply made pasta sauce, poorly cooked steak, etc. The prices will make you gag, eat anywhere but here if you stay for other reasons. Pay just a bit more and stay elsewhere, but if you are cheap, or have very low standards, enjoy.

Enjoyable experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/08
We have stayed at this Inn considerable times. The service is always very good, wether at the check in/out, dining room etc. The staff seem to make you very comforable and welcome. The pool & play structure area is great for kids if you are travelling with kids!!!!!!! I'm thinking this trip convinced us to look into getting our own hot tub at home(55+ & NoT travelling with Kids). Over all we enjoy our stay and will plan to use this INN in the future.

A Long Time Guest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/07
I have been using this Inn for nearly 15 years on my trips through W'peg and have yet to experience a truly negative time at this Inn. I have found the staff, especially the front desk staff, to be helpful, competent and caring. I have even spent my Christmas vacation there, on several occasions, and have yet to regret my choice. The kitchen, at times, leaves a bit to be desired but that seems to be improving a bit as of late. Any inn can have an occasional good or bad "day" but to maintain consistently high quality for a decade and a half with visits frequently on a monthly basis, takes a very special staff and management. Very well done indeed!

nice place to stay in a big city
By mag pie, 11/04/07
I stayed in the hotel over a weekend and the staff and all who were there to help you were very friendly and very helpful. THey make it easy to stay. Only problem noise floats in from the halls and sometimes it can be annyoing. But overall I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here agin. The pool is kinda small and the hot tub in small too but the main focous is on a family atmosphere. Rooms were clean and well taken care off. also includes wireless internet.

It's OK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/07
Considering that we didn't have a reservation we were thankful to get a room for 2 nights. I don't think that this would be my first choice for a hotel as it is a little out of the way. However, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and it looks as if the children would love it.

lousy hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/07
right from the start our family was treated like the dirt we found in our room the front desk manager was everything that a person dealing with people should not be , condesending and rude . this hotel had mouse dropings in the skylites above our kid's suite , the bathroom loked like it was wiped over with an oil rag , then to top it off we could not sleep because the banquet rooms had weddings going on til 1 am and the noise kept our kids up til 2am we complained and their rewponse was tha tthey always tell people about the "secondary noise ' from the ballrooms we had a lousy time and will never go back

Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
I always stay at this hotel and have spent 3 days at the most. It is clean, great service, friendly and over all top notch. I have no children but have looked at the childrens facilities and they are wonderful and all families that we meet on the elevators say that it is awesome. Food service was quick and very good. The balcony rooms are my favorite. They are big and nice to be able to go out side for some fresh air. The location is a bit off beat but if driving it is just a hop and a skip away from everything. They also have a shuttle and I've had no problems with that. The only reason I didn't give it a five star is because of the location. But there is a MacDonalds and Keg across the street.

Its too bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/07
I stay at a lot of hotels in a year and they have to go out of there way for me to take notice. Well, I will have to admit Holiday Inn Airport West is got to have one of the worst hotel managers I have ever come across. I had a reasonably substantial phone charged billed to my room, which was made after I checked out. The hotel decided to add the charge to my card later. You would think the hotel would just remove the charge once I complained. Forget it, they accused me of making phone calls that I didn't want to pay for. I had to get my credit card company involved to finally get movement on the investigation the extra charges. If your looking for hassle free service, don't stay here.

Rude staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/07
I recently stayed at the hotel with my husband and 3 year old daughter. My daughter absolutely loved the play structure and had a great time, which was the only upside to our stay. What I'd like to know is, where does management send their front desk employee's for the rude behavior and poor PR training?!
