BEDBUGS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/10
Upon waking up in the morning at 6 am I was covered in red bites,on my eye lid, up to 7 on my rt. arm, a few on my left and up to a dozen more on my back legs and feet. I immediatly went to amedic clinic to find out that yes they were BedBug bites so travellers for the Olympics beware.

worth a try
By Earth, 1/13/08
This was the first hotel I ever stayed at while in Vancouver. It was actually a pretty good experience. The staff was friendly and the place was clean and warm and a nice size. I liked the garden in the middle, even though it rained nearly every day, it was still enjoyable. There were lots of local Indian restaurants to enjoy – but we could have used a mini-fridge. And yes, you are given vouchers for McDonalds at breakfast, but that really is of little use to a vegetarian. It was a nice first experience/introduction to Vancouver, not a location I need to go to again, but I would still recommend it for those looking to save some money.

don't recommend
By HannaG, 2/2/07
I decided to visit Canada with my parents and my girlfriend. We booked two non-smoking rooms in the Days Inn ( adress) in Vancouver, BC, Canada. When we checked in , we discovered the rooms stunk like cigarette smoke! We were very surprised because we had selected ‘non-smoking’ on web site we used for our reservation. We walked back to the reception desk and explained the situation to the person on shift. The gentlemen, named Ron, explained that there was nothing he could do. Apparently to him, no apology was necessary. He let us know that they were completely booked and that he really was not able to be of any further assistance. His attitude and rudeness were shocking. We requested to talk to the manager so he called him and spoke with him on the phone. After he hung up, he said that there was nothing left to be done, that we were free to check out and that we would not be charged. I asked him about this TWICE to confirm his statement. So, in light of not wanting to spend the night in an unpleasantly smelling room- we left, however, the real motivation for us to leave was mainly because of the way this man had the audacity to speak to us- his customers After returning to Portland , my girlfriend realized that there was a charge on her credit card for one night in both rooms. She called the hotel and the staff told her that Ron had made a note in the computer that we were informed that we were going to be charged for the night. We tried to talk to the manager again, but he told us that we didn’t have any proof of what we were previously told. He said, and I quote, “ I am not going to let you not pay for these rooms”. He said that there is a late cancellation fee that we were required to pay. I agreed that I was aware of this fee but that the issue had to do with Ron lying to us, then going out of his way to make a note in the computer that he had told us otherwise. I made a claim with the Days Inn customer service a few days ago. I called back today for a follow up. The manager of this hotel told them that we selected smoking rooms because they were cheaper. That was another lie. I am so frustrated and shocked by this behavior that I am going to put our experience on every possible search engine. If you do decide stay at this unprofessional establishment, take a recorder with you, just in case they are as dishonest with you as they were with us.

We'll be using this hotel from now on
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/1/07
The place was very clean, the gardens are beautiful, the staff was very helpful, and it was close to alot of great amenities. The beds were the most comfortable that I've slept in at a motel,I've spent three times that much and been very dissapointed with the rooms. I found it very easy to get to my appt at the cancer clinic downtown, i travel there every 3 months and will be using this hotel from now on.

Far from downtown
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/06
The hotel is nice and quiet and staff is quite friendly. However they don't even have a breakfast lounge (they send you to mcdonalds!!). Its location is very far from downtown - 45mins by bus to downtown. This was its major drawback.

Beautiful Courtyard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/06
This is an older hotel that is kept up extremely well. The central courtyard was absolutely beautiful! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had not been promised a breakfast, but received a voucher for McDonalds next door, which we thought was nice. The room was very clean. The front desk provided us with information on how to get to local attractions using the bus system, and they were so easy to get to, we cancelled the rental car. The hotel is only a few miles from the city center, and I felt safer here then I did when I was downtown. Considering the price of downtown hotels, this was a great bargain.

Beautiful Courtyard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/2/06
This hotel was perfect for our budget. We wanted to be in Vancouver without the cost of staying right downtown. The hotel is on a bus route and close to the skytrain, so transportation was a breeze. Beautiful courtyard, with a very well maintained garden. The room was clean and the staff were very helpful.
