Medicine Hat Lodge, Medicine Hat

We liked the atmosphere and the staff were friendly from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. We had the buffet and it was great. The hall that the wedding was in was great for the large group that we had in attendance. Various member of ours enjoyed the waterpark and went back often. to ride the slide and ejoy the pool and hot tub. Thank you for the experience.

I would just like to thank Frank for the gift certificate which was used on Thursday evening. The food was absolutely wonderful, delicious as well as the service was recieved. My husband treated himself to the "Steak and Lobster" which was cooked to perfection and I had my favorite, Salmon which was the special. We went with our friends and enjoyed the evening tremendously..

We booked our room as part of a wedding group. There were some who didn't get booked as part of the group and got a better deal!!! We saved $15 off/day of our room rate, but we didn't receive any of the breakfast and drink vouchers that other people received and not booked with the wedding group. Front desk people tried to explain that it was a group deal until I explained the math to them! NOT A GOOD DEAL! The matresses were old and sloped to the middle... likely haven;t been replaced since the hotel was booked! Water park is ok. Not much for upkeep here. Pool side rooms are loud! Especially when the bar at the top of the waterslide is held on too... there is a plastic "guard: over a steel bar and it screeches loudly when the kids roll it while taking off on the slide. Many new hotels in the vicinity... strongly recommend that you stay there! This has been one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in (and I travelled a quarter of the time over a three year period with work!).

The lodge claims to be a 4 star hotel.....according to who? It is run down, lacks basic customer service and they dont seem to care about the people staying there. There are many other and better choices in medicine hat.....go to them!

THE ROOM: Where she we start? First of all, the shower was disgusting, the shower head was completely orange and dingy (yes housekeeping, you need to clean these too), there was black mold growing in the grout, brown stains on the ceiling and a chunk of drop ceiling tile missing only to name a few. The wallpaper was coming off, the doors were so banged up that it looked as though mice had chewed off the corners and edges (though I'm sure there weren't mice there :)), and there were holes in the wall from what looked to be from the removal of previous light fixtures. THE SERVICE: Housekeeping gave us a bit of attitude as we left the room to go to breakfast. I guess we were inconveniencing them by placing the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and not wanting the room cleaned before 10am. On a positive note, the brunch in the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious, quite the spread, and the service was excellent. Upon checkout, the girl behind the desk completely ignored us, and served the next person to enter through the hotel doors. I thought maybe she didn't realize that we had not been helped, an honest mistake. I soon realized that it was just her discourteous disposition, as she didn't make eye contact with me as she checked us out of the hotel, nor did she bother to ask how are stay was. After leaving Medicine Hat, we realized that an item had been left behind. We promptly called the hotel and left a description of the lost item. We were told that we would receive a callback. A few days went by with no return call, and so we placed another call to the hotel. Housekeeping placed us on hold for a long period of time, then we were disconnected. The next call to the hotel, the girl answered and took down the description again, and said we would receive a callback. I have not heard back from them, and don't expect to. We were not rude to the staff and did not complain, despite our bad experiences, so being ignored by the hotel after they had our money for the stay was just the icing on the cake for us. I would never stay here again.

10 years ago this hotel was at the top of their game. But now it is just old and unkept. The service was tolerable, but not what i would expect from a 4 star property. No wonder they have lost a star... The rooms was nothing more than average: damaged furniture, curtains off the rod, markings on the wall, bathroom too dark. When our room was cleaned, the personal towels be brought and used were taken off the rack and taken to housekeeping. I thought they weren't supposed to touch those ones, at least that's what the sign said. And to make matter worse, they didn't even repalce any of the towels. Overall, this hotel was a complete disappointment. I used to work there, proudly!!! Now, i wouldn't tell anyone to stay there. For a better price you can get a much cleaner, friendlier, newer hotel room down the road.

This used to be a great hotel. It has a great layout and some good restaraunts on premises. But, the state of the waterslide/pool area has become inexcusable. I remember when this hotel was built and decades later it still has all of the original equipment and tiles in the pool. This wouldn't be a problem if they weren't in such a state of desrepair. In most of the swimming pool and hot tub, there is NO grout at all left between tiles, leaving sharp tile edges for feet and a great place for bacteria. Everything is musty and discolored. Steel window frames in the waterslide area are peeled and badly corroded, dirt and debris scattered everywhere. The rooms are slightly better, but getting worse all the time. Our toilet was not secured to the floor, and the sink had cigarette scars all over it. Our friends rooms were the same. If I'm not mistaken, this is the most expensive hotel in the city, by a good margin. You can do better elsewhere, at least until they invest in a renovation.

We really enjoyed the water park and the food in the resteraunt, the staff and the hotel was fantastic. We would love to visit there again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

i love the food and the staff,the location,the cleanliness,its not realy far from the air port its reat nexed to the mall it has a spa,pool,court yard,lounge,gift shop,jungle cafe,m grill,casino its just great in every way.

the presedential sweet was beautiful . The corner jet tub was a lot of fun .The staff were very helpful and friendly. The in house casino also a nice touch
