Surprised, our visit was Great!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/27/09
Location, location, location. We were there for a hockey game, it was so convinient. The staff was great, nice and friendly. The rooms were out dated but very very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back.

Well Worth The Visit
By Holli, 5/24/07
I booked our room prior to finding the reviews on this site. Needless to say after reading them I was just a bit nervous, but it was too late to cancel at that point. The location for the concert was great! We were able to walk across the street and there we were. We looked out our window and watched the trucks and band buses. The beds were new and comfortable. The room itself was clean and provided us with a coffee maker and a hairdryer. Our room even had a mini-fridge! To my understanding not all rooms have the fridges but most do just be sure to ask for a room with a fridge when making your reservation. The food was really good and the staff was friendly and courteous in all areas - the front desk, dining room and bar. We even met the general manager and the executive general manager and they were very friendly - inquiring how we were enjoying our stay and everything. So for those who stayed in the past and didn't enjoy it - try again you will be pleasantly surprised I think. For those who have yet to stay there - it is well worth the trip.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/06
Like the location for events at Rexall Place. Dislike service in restaurant, restaurant food (lunch/supper) - Liked breakfast. Rooms not very clean and had several cold showers!

We won't be going back
I have stayed at the Coliseum Inn two years in a row during a horse racing event.....its as handy as you can get to the track and hockey arena etc. The last time there, the room was freezing, the bulb in the lamp was missing and the leg on one of the two chairs was broken to the point of being unsafe. There was no maintenance person on duty so the staff tried to fix our heating problem by giving us keys to several rooms to try out. None of the rooms seemed to be any warmer at all, but we did use the opportunity to gather a light bulb and swap out the broken chair. We were shocked to see the condition of some of these other rooms too.....for example two beds but only one headboard which was set in between the two for appearance sake. I will be going back for the 2006 edition of the horse racing event but no way could I ask my wife to stay in this dive....will be seeking other accomodation. Too bad because the location is hard to beat.

Very poor!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/05
After travelling several hours, we arrived at this hotel only to find there was no place for us to park our vehicle. We had called ahead to be sure there would be somewhere to park because we knew there were many activities going on in that area. They assured us on the phone there would be somewhere to park. After about 20 minutes, they finally found a place for us to park. There are no fridges or coffee pots, or alarm clocks in the rooms. There wasn't even a remote control for the TV! We asked about one and finally got 1 when we went down to the desk about an hour later. They had found one but hadn't bothered to send it up to us. Since there were no coffee pots in the rooms, we requested a carafe of coffee. They had no carafes! There aren't any mugs in the rooms anyway. There is an ice bucket but no lid. Room isn't bad for cleanliness, hallways and elevators are not good. My husband has stayed here twice in the past and had no complaints.

Ya Right!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/26/05
Those pictures are very wrong. First off the Inn does not even look nice for a city but those pictures are a lie. The hotel is across from Rexall place (Home of the Edmonton Oilers). It is on a busy street and is a very old high rise. Well I will never stay there because of those horrible pictures!! A shame that a hotel would lie about their looks!!
