Better than a Motel 6, what do expect the Hilton?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/08
The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful, polite and very knowledgeable about the local area. We walked in with no reservations in the middle of a blizzard. The business center was useful and the internet access quick. The bartender in the bar was friendly and funny. We couldn't evaluate the complimentary breakfast because of a staff shortage in the morning (family emergency, very understandable situation). The staff was very apologetic and helpful as we were directed to a nearby cafe that was great; it had the best waffles and yummy country potatoes. The room was clean; there was heat and plenty of clean towels. There is access to the pool from inside for those who can follow signs, as well as access from the outside. The patio furniture inside the pool area was very comfortable and the hot tub was hot and the pool just perfect. The pool house also had plenty of extra towels. We also noticed other patrons with pets. It’s not the Hilton, but for the money I got a lot of amenities and friendly service, it was a nice surprise coming in from the cold.

ewwwww Gross!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/08
We too ended up staying at this Ramada Inn. We go to Laramie at least one time per month and will never end up staying here again. I would rather sleep in my car! Of course Laramie has to be one of the coldest places in the winter. When we stayed we froze to death because the heater didnt work. It was so cold outside we thought we would just give it time. There isnt enough time in my lifetime to make it warm with that heater. Instead of bothering anyone we decided to turn on the shower and the hair dryer to warm it up a bit. The water in the shower was rust colored and it smelled so bad we didnt even take a shower the next morning. I didnt even think to look under the mattress, mostly because I didnt want to know what would be waiting. We didnt end up getting much sleep that night between freezing and the train blowing by it was terrible. Breakfast? HA! The only breakfast offered there is for the people that work there. They are more concerned whether you made sure and put your tickets in the bowl than if there was anything actually to eat. Unbelievable. I asked for a straw, they acted as if they never would have anything like that! We will never stay here again. I would say they'd be better off to light a match.

Awful...stay away!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
I had made reservations two weeks ahead of my arrival date. the room was disgusting. There were old cookies(among many other things) under the bed...very noticeable stains on the bedspread and the mattress was stained in blood. I should have asked for a refund. The price is outrageous for this dump. The room was very dirty and I suggest they condemn this disgrace to the beautiful town of Laramie.

Awful Experience!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/07
Since we arrived late in the evening, we weren't able to look at the location very much. However, the room was extremely unclean. Every surface of the room seemed to be covered with hair. There was hair on the bedding, the sink, the bathroom floor, and the bathtub. The carpet didn't appear to be vacuumed. The most disgusting surprise was found under the bed. About an inch of debris, including bottle caps, popcorn, and what appeared to be a year's worth of dust, covered the area beneath the bed. After seeing this sight, we asked to be shown another room. An extremely intoxicated maintenance worker attempted to help us, but he couldn't get the door open, so the desk clerk had to help out. After they finally got the door open, we were able to look at the room. The only improvement was that the area beneath the bed was vacuumed. Even though our reservations were made online and we were told that there would be no refund, we chose to go elsewhere. The Days Inn we ended up staying in was a dramatic improvement.

Stay Away from this one!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/07
The building itself is deteriorating. The exercise room was dirty (floor, equipment), the water bottles empty and sitting next to the cooler. Equipment was old, in poor condition. The room I was given didn't seem to have been cleaned after the last occupant had left: "Continental breakfast" was still in the garbage can. Dirty floor. Sheets so thin you could see through them! Shower curtain attached to rod with plastic electric wiring clips! Continental breakfast a choice of cold cereal or doughnuts--no fruit, yogurt, or grains.

Never again!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/07
We went ready for a pool and husband want to go to the bar for a drink and everything was close. They didn't tell us this when we call before hand. The free breakfast was cereal. Our bathroom light was out and they couldn't come fix it. They didn't clean our rooms just replaced our towels and that was it.

Worst experience EVER!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/06
We had stayed at a Motel 6 the night before in Hays, Kansas so when we saw the price of the Ramada Inn, all of the hotel features, and the 3 star rating by AAA, we were so excited to stay there. After checking in at 1:00 in the morning and walking quite a distance while lugging our luggage to get to our room, the key would not work!!! So after the long walk back to the lobby we got another key and went to our room. When we walked in, it looked so clean I was dancing around the room because I was so happy to have a decent room. I unpacked and went to get in the shower. Guess what? NO HOT WATER!!! We called and they said, "we will give you a key to another room to take a shower in." My boyfriend said, "No, we want a room that has hot water." You would think that wasn't too much to ask!!! So we packed up and made our long walk back to the lobby. We waited for at least 20-30 minutes before they gave us another room which was on the other side of the hotel. We went into that room and discovered that the A/C did not work. I walked into the bathroom to discover a DIRTY shower with hair all in it with used soap and shampoo!!! We loaded up our stuff and demanded our money back and the staff did not even seemed to be apologetic at all. The Ramada Inn at Laramie, WY made the Motel 6 the night before seem like a Ritz Carlton!!

Quiet, but Simple
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/05
We arrived without a reservation and they were very accommodating. We headed here after stopping by the Howard Johnson, which looked pretty scary. The Ramada was set up a little strange, and you had to go outside to get to the pool. The pool was indoor, and featured a lap pool and a hot tub. The hot tub was more like a "lukewarm" tub, and the air inside the pool area was chilly. The sheets in our room were rather rough, and, this was the second most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 6-day trip, and offered the least. The free breakfast was very poorly lit in a Japanese Restaurant, but the attendant was very nice and the food adequate. The room was so quiet! When we went into the hallway we heard out adjacent neighbor blaring his TV, but we couldn't hear a thing from inside. The hotel was okay - there didn't seem to be many other options in the area. I wouldn't NOT recommend this hotel, but you may want to look around a little.

WiFi "Hotspot" ?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/05
We stayed here for the WiFi connection. Overall, this was a poor experience and a poor value for our dollar. The toilet seat in the first room assigned to us hung tenuously from a single bolt. If I'm going to get thrown in Wyoming, it ought to be by a bull in Chyenne during Pioneer Days, not by a bucking throne in the Capitol City! We relocated. I tried to establish an email connection with my Mac laptop (we've come to expect problems as Mac users because most establishments set up plug-and-play connections in the PC environment and give lip-service to Macintosh). After an hour of hacking I finally called the front desk. They were refreshingly candid, kind, but hardly the professionals one must confront in a big metropolis. After a couple of calls back and forth, they gave me the home phone number of the tech support guy. The WiFi connection/server is a mom-and-pop operation run by a local couple who've agreed to service the Ramada. Rick was most cordial, and he talked me through the last couple of steps to get connected and running. How do you rate an experience like this? When we entered the second room it was dark ... I went to the most obvious lamp and felt for a turn-on switch. I found my index finger sticking into a bare socket: one of the two sockets was missing a bulb. It was memorable, potentially lethal, and more challenging than we had expected when we made our reservation from I-80 on our cell phone. More disturbingly, the property has not been managed well and we thought that the chain should send anonymous inspectors out to verify its quality. I wouldn't say, "don't consider it!" but if you're a Mac user and want a robust internet connection, there a re better choices in Laramie. Good luck! P.S. We had a good dinner at the on-premises restaurant, but it was pricey!

New Decor at the Sushi Restaurant in the Ramada is Hideous!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/05
We love to eat at the Sushi restaurant at the Ramade Inn in Laramie, Wyoming, but the new decor is hideous. They have set up cheap, tacky white counters in the restaurant in order to serve Brunch ro something like that. There is also a big ugly white refrigerator standing at the end of the diningroom and it is all so nasty looking. It does not match the nice black and red decor of the restaurant at all. At least paint the cheap new furniture black, but even that will be poor looking!!!
